Reset button on dash cam

I have 2 mirror type dash cams, I noticed when the reset button is pressed, the dash cam simply switched off, and all the settings, such as date remain same as before, unlike other device which when reset will switch off and restart and all setting revert to facory default.

Is the reset button real? does it really reset the dash cam?

reset button is just to restart it in case of lockup, reset of settings would be done through the settings menu
 
Why not labelled "Restart"?
