Review: SJ7000 Wi-Fi Waterproof 1080p Action Camera from Gearbest.com
Thank you @GearBest for providing sample.
It is available at Gearbest for $59.99: *****************************************
Summary:
Keeping price in mind, it's a good option for budget wi-fi action camera.
Pros: Very cheap for all the features (wi-fi, waterproof case, tons of accessories) that come in the package.
Waterproof housing works great and focus is great underwater.
Wi-Fi works great and has nice size LCD screen.
Comes with variety of mounting options for quite a few hobbies.
Audio Video quality is pretty good.
Cons: Slight out of focus area in the right corner.
Maybe just in my unit but shows QC is not that great.
Audio has hiss noise when it's quiet and the camera/vehicle is not moving but the hiss goes away when vehicle is in motion or when there is some audio.
Night is very dark even with EV at +2.

Unboxing video of SJ7000 Waterproof Wi-Fi action camera:

I'll have to figure out a mount to use it as a dashcam and also can use a motorized bike using the provided handlebar mount.
Review to follow...

Video is decent and audio is very good.

Night video test when I get some night footage...

For android app, I scanned the code on the product box but it never could download it.
Maybe it's in China and blocked or something...
Anyway, I searched 'Youmera' in the google app store and installed V3 that works great:

Against the Sun:

How about under water test?:(
Here is a video of under water test.
The focus is very good, doesn't change much from outside to under water.
I put a tube of Colgate toothpaste for focus test and letters are still in focus under water and can be easily read.

There is some hiss on audio but still captures audio fine.
I tested over 3 minutes and inside was completely dry afterwards.
I'd say, it's good for underwater use. :)

The other camera in the pool is Nautilus Nemo's Eye.

For comparison of under water video from Nautilus Nemo's Eye, check this post here:

The videos were taken at the same time.

From the same manufacturer of the SJ6000, I see. At this model numbering rate, SJCAM better name their next model SJ10000. :D

PS: I believe it must be a lot of work doing these reviews but still I envy your side "job". :)

These are not from SJCAM as there is no SJCAM logo.
Just the model name that resembles.
There are many versions of these in the market.

As for time spent for reviews, sometimes it's hectic.
Just for one screenshots/videos post, one evening goes by to review, edit, take screenshots, compare old review videos/locations for comparisons, check for any video issues, listen to audio quality/issues, upload, writeup, take pictures of product, contact supplier if there's issue etc... plus watch the thread for follow ups, discussions etc...
I've denied few dashcams from different suppliers already due to their similarity to already reviewed dashcams as there is no significant difference to spend that much time and effort.
It's fun so I do it but there are also a lot of other things to do when you come back home, specially when you have little kids. ;)

I'll have to add night test on this SJ7000.
Have to DIY a dashcam mount for this as I don't want to ride the bike at night for testing.
Little to risky on the bikes at night.

Where did you see me saying that this was a SJCAM? I said it was made by the same manufacturer of the SJ6000. That model had been around long before SJCAM released the SJ5000 model (you probably already know all of this), that's why I said they better jump right to the SJ10000 since they no longer will be able to use the names SJ6000 and SJ7000, or even SJ8000 and SJ9000, should this manufacturer decides to launch those models before SJCAM eventually does.

Oh okay.
I thought you meant these are from SJCAM but you meant SJCAM needs to up their model number due to these filling up in between. ;)

The difference between a native English speaker and a non-native English speaker: you use so much less words to say the same thing.

Night screenshots:
Finally got around using a DIY dashcam mount and got night videos from the SJ7000.
Night video is grainy and not as good as some better ones but not bad either.
I'd say it's in the line of G1WH category for the night.
Audio is very good.
EV = 0.

Another SJ4000-clone action cam using those common AR sensor and Novatek processor. Picture quality especially the night video looks pretty average by today's standard. Is there anything special about this SJ7000 that can convince buyers to choose this cam over so many others out there on the market?

Low price!
For less than $60, you get a 1080p action camera with wifi, waterproof case along with bunch of mounting adapters for anything from helmet to handlebar to belt etc... ;)

but unknown levels of support, not to say that the originals have stellar support either but at least knowing where they come from and are somewhat contactable is possibly an advantage over a complete unknown quantity

That risk applies to most Chinese suppliers regardless of product.
You want cheap, it'll be slow shipping and you have to take risk of inconvenience in case something goes wrong.
You want full support, convenient local return, it won't be cheap.
It's hard to have both. ;)
As long as product works as expected, there will be no need to contact and reviews help decide on that somewhat.

.

I agree, I do feel the copy of a copy has less good faith and is more of an unknown quantity, with this kind of product it's more a case of only spend what you're prepared to lose, if it works out fine it's all good but if things go south that's part of the risk
