Just realized, the thing is not too big i feel.
I do have the mirror issue with mine coming off the roof, so any 1 - 2 dashcams mounted in front of it, well interior cameras would see a lot of mirror, then again should not be a problem having this 360 camera offset a little.

What do you mean by interior cameras would see a lot of mirror?
You mean rear view mirror is on the way?

Will add videos soon...
Where have you been all these years Sunny haha

You mean rear view mirror is on the way
Yes, though there are quite a bit of room in front of the mirror i have always tested systems with interior cameras with my mirror removed ( which is fortunately legal )
I cant get myself to compromise and put a system lower on the windscreen even if i ignored it being illegal, and also not a law police seem very keen on policing judging from Local TV COP programs.

Just a thin short line of fishing line dangling from your mirror, it is actually illegal here, and still many have all manner of garbage dangling there.

Looking forward to see what you come up with Sunny

The tripod has a mount with built in battery that's charged via a USB-C cable.

Handheld mode folders and bit rate:
Root folder has Normal and Photo folders for videos and photos respectively.
To start video, press the side button or use touch screen and press the record button.
If you use the side ring button, it also takes a photo and starts recording video.
Video frame size is 5184 x 1944 and bit rate of combined video is around 29 mbps at 30 fps.

Tried handheld mode and it merges both front and back videos together.
Now, how do I hide myself from the videos? 😀
These are Photo files from the camera. Left half is from front facing camera and right half is from the back (touchscreen side) camera.
Picture quality is good and clear and the merge seems seamless at least for the videos I took as I didn't notice much separation from front and back videos.

If you notice kid playing in snow on shorts and flip flops, yes that is real. I'd too but still recovering from cold so not taking chances. 😉
Colorado is really weird in weather. You can have snow and it'll be warm and nice to walk in t-shirts wearing flip flops.

That looks pretty good, although it looks like the ground gets a bit warped if you don't hold the camera horizontal...

That bitrate is a bit low for dashcam use, if you like detail.

I was thinking the bitrate is on par or bit higher than the average for Starvis 2 IMX675-wise. But yeah if you like detail you'll likely want more.

I was thinking the bitrate is on par or bit higher than the average for Starvis 2 IMX675-wise.
But there are two IMX675 recording that image, so you want twice the bitrate for "average" image quality!
Or you can look at it as a 5K image, so you want more bitrate than the average 4K camera.

Well now that you put it that way...

It seems to handle the exposure well, even with the sun in the frame

What are electrostatic adhesives used for and how are they used? What function do they have?

Normally, you stick them to the windscreen, and then stick a dashcam to them. When you want to remove the dashcam, the electrostatic film will just peal off in seconds, while if you stick the dashcam direct to the glass, it will take you ten minutes to get the 3M adhesive off the glass. You don't need to use them, but if you don't want a permanent install then they save a lot of effort, and make the camera easier to steal!

Thank you,

Good idea, but are they able to withstand the weight of the camera and the movements of removing and putting the camera and GPS module?

Gracias,

Buenas idea, pero son capaces de soportar el peso de la cámara y los movimientos de quitar y poner la cámara y el módulo GPS?

Yes, this works just fine.
I have mounted every dashcam with the static sticker. Removing the camera, plugging in cables at high temperatures of about 40°C or even in the cold winter at -5°C is no issue.
Just clean the windshield properly before applying it and you are good to go.

Yes, they will hold about 1Kg weight per cm² of dashcam mount, so at least 4Kg, or 1Kg in a 4g impact, which is enough for any dashcam!

As Julian23 says, clean the glass properly before using them, and don't use a polish that leaves wax on the glass.

They are not reusable.

If the glass has a silkscreened design like the one in the photo, with a little relief to the touch, which is my case, and I have to apply the electrostatic adhesive in such a way that almost half of it remains in that area, I suppose that there will be bubbles and it will no longer be effective, that it cannot be used due to the risk of detachment... Is this so or would it work well? ?
_-----------------_
