Hi Guys

So i updated to the latest firmware.
I added my battery pack extension which all went perfectly.
I also had a T9 1TB ssd which was working perfectly. I wanted to upgrade so i got the 4tb T9 ssd instead.
I put this in and it asked me to reformat. I then had an error saying slow storage or something like that.
After i format it, it keeps wanting me to format it again. I dont understand why this is the case?
I am using th 2.5m VIOFO cable, the 1tb was working perfectly i didnt expect the 4tb to not be compatible with the dashccam.

Is there any fix for this?
I have a 512gb micro sd which is used for my parking recording. Again this all worked perfectly with my 1TB ssd.

If i insert the 4tb ssd into windows it picks it up fine no issues.

Any help?

Ok this might be a long shot.
Viofo have a bad habit of using broken firmware that they previously fixed getting back in the later version.
Personally i wonder if they have a reliable version control process.

Why do i say this in this particular post?

When the original A329 hdmi version was released many posted problems what capacity of ssd worked and found the 4TB version had problems.
In my case I tested the A329 hdmi version with a NVMe 512GB and it would not correctly work with it.
Later firmware seemed to reduce/remove that problem.
My point is part of the original code may have returned in the latest update you used.

This is just my observation and not hard factual proof. IF I had access to the SDK from novatek it might help finding proof.

Do you think it could be the viofo firmware causing this?
Tbf I updated to latest version then put the new ssd in.

I have to find my old firmware file and see if it works on that.

So long man can't be asked. Just wanted everthing to work the way it was with the new battery pack Bluetooth feature.
Didn't expect ssd failure esp cos I stuck to the same model being t9

Which 4tb ssds does everyone else use with the new firmware?
Anyone experiencing any issues?

Try a hard reset of the camera as it can also be the code with soft internal corruption. Soft- meaning it can be easily repaired.

Fyi if you want me to know you posted add @LateralNW otherwise I'll miss you posts.

I am using a Samsung T7 Shield 4TB and have not experienced any issues with the latest firmware (I also had it on my original A329). The only issue I ever had on my A329TC was due to the known loose USB-C connection on these SSDs (addressed that using a SSD mount with a cable clamp). Before that fix I did not get slow storage or excessive reformat prompts--it was simply that the cam repeatedly lost the connection to the SSD and switched back to the SD card for driving recording, until I manually disconnected and reconnected.

Hmm I dunno why I'm getting this problem with the t9 4tb ssd.

Maybe I should have gotten the t7 instead.

Are you using the viofo USB C cable?

There is two ways to do a reset.
1. Via the cameras menus
2. Pressing the reset hole on the side of the unit. I only have the A329 hdmi unit not the latter A329nn models.

The memory I used was a Corsair 512 GB in a metal housing that I added extra heat transfer pads to.

I'll see if i can find the unit i used as I'm sure i mentioned it on Dashcam talk perhaps in my review of the a329.

I'll post it here if i find it.

I know others have found the Samsung T units did work for them but it seems hit and miss.

Yes, I am using the OEM SSD cable.

I don't know that your issues would be resolved with a T7, so don't spend more money (esp with the currently ridiculous expense of storage devices) when it could easily be something else in play here.

Well ive tried everything so far
Formatted on windows
Formatted on viofo.

Did that partition thing. Which Google said.
I'm out of options for now
Maybe I just stick to the 1tb for now

Ask Viofo via a support ticket.

OK I think it should work me
If not let me know.

Thanks admin for moving the thread

Does anyone know if there is a partition difference between a 1tb ssd and a 4tb ssd?
