Save clip/button mod?

I saw a photo a couple months ago where someone wired a small button like this https://www.ebay.ca/itm/282305562069 to their G1W-C to the button that locks clips.

I was wondering if it's possible to do that with a button like this https://www.ebay.ca/itm/201559760076 and how do you wire it up? what gauge wire?

I am asking because I put my extra G1W-C dashcam in my moms SUV, but her back window is very far away. I'd like to wire up a button in the console or on the dash that she can press and it'll save the clip.

That should work. Wire gauge needn't be much as there is only a tiny current involved. Even cheap thin speaker wire is overkill here. You may find the new wiring causing RFI in the car radio. To help avoid that route it away from the radio antenna and it's coax. Test for RFI before buttoning everything up. I'd recommend that you use a connector of some ort in or near the cam so that it can be removed from the car if necessary without pulling the new wiring.
