Hey guys,

Going to pull the trigger on the 9665 soon. Before I buy it - is video viewing / GPS / speed data ok to view on a Mac? I don't have access to a PC so just wondering if there's a good program for viewing the video content from the dash cam.

Thanks

How do you review the speed data while viewing on a mac? The only thing I can see is the video itself. GPS piece is always plugged in and situated on the dash properly.

I tried both the Datakam Player and the Dashcam Viewer.

I was able to get one video to kind of show the GPS map w/ Datakam along with the speed, but it is totally wrong (ie shows the car moving a 30km/hr while sitting at a stop light)

No I have V2. Argh, sorry I missed the OP was referencing the V3.

ok, just wanted to clarify as the V3's all come with the shorter window mount GPS (some of the V2's do as well), if a window mount GPS was mounted on the dash it would be pointed in the wrong direction

take it you are using the most recent version of Registrator Viewer?

Yes I just downloaded it this morning. Now I can't even get Datakam to open... just a black screen. I'm going over to my parent's house later and they have a PC, so I can try it again while I'm there.

Just to clarify, the GPS data should be embedded into the .mov file, correct? I've only had the camera a couple of weeks and never did the firmware update on it. Could that make a difference on the data recording too?

Correct GPS data is embedded into the .mov files

http://DashCamViewer.com is usually the better of the two apps for Mac. Registratorviewer is best for Windows. Download Registratorviewer from https://StreetGuardian.info/support

If you have a V2 be sure to update the firmware to the latest from https://StreetGuardian.info/support

GPS data is embedded into the files, has always been that way so even if you're on an earlier firmware version the data will still be there, if the signal bars shown on the LCD go green then the GPS would be working, they'd be red if no signal or would show 'no GPS' if there was some other issue

See how you go with the Windows version as that's a lot easier to diagnose
