Thanks JazJon for your great appreciation on MINI 0801. the price $86 is fair enough for the 1080P Amberalla on Ebay.
In fact, G1W is competitive with MINI0801 on video quality, even better in night because the HDR/WDR technology. please refer the Youtube videos:

MINI0801

If the G1W turns out to be decent
DVR-207 is active 720P and G1W is active 1080P they are not on the same level. The Novatek NT96650 chipset in G1W have the best performance in our test of the models below $100. (equal or better than Amberalla A2S60 in Mini 0801)

I heard a NEW version of the 0801 (same shape case, different electronics) is in the works.
yes there is one shop copied our patent mold and released a cheap NT96220 version which provide active 720P video (interpolation 1080P).

we are considering to launch a new model with 0801 case, using NT96650 chip with great HDR performance.

Very interesting! I'm familiar with WDR, but I'm not familiar with HDR. Is there a difference?
I'm just starting to research.

I'm looking forward to something in the same 0801 shape & size with WDR/HDR. It would be VERY popular on here I'm sure.

I know the G1W has better picture quality. I should of been a little more clear. I meant reliability i leave my DVR-027 in my one car often and it still holds up well through the heat and all. if the G1W holds up as well reliability wise it will defiantly be a great camera for the money. (unlike my $100 1080P GS8000 that would constantly over heat and fried a micro SD card)
