SJ11 Active Novatek Firmware Editor

Hi

I have bought a new SJ11 Active camera but the same as for SJ10 there is a problem with sharpness table for all downscaled resolutions (native 4K is sharp, all others 2K, 1080p are blurry).
The camera came with V1.4.1 firmware.

Can anyone help me how to find find sharpness tables in firmware? And how to export firmware from camera to file as SJCAM does not provide any firmware files on site. I can work only on V1.3.4 found on telegram.

Specs says that SJ11 uses NT96580. In firmware I have found Novatek NA51055.

NtkMPE does not find correct movie parameters on both uncrompressed partitions:

Here is the comparison of video quality for both normal and strong sharpness settings.

It is strange why SJCAM can't fix it since SJ10 as in SJ8 everything was ok and photo quality, which uses the same method of sharpness table, is ok.

Hi @czaroslaw,


I have the latest firmware for the SJ11 camera and I was wondering if you’d be interested in using it to try doubling the video bitrate.
I used to have an older SJ4000 which could reach a maximum bitrate of 14 Mbps in 1080p, while this new SJ11 only records at around 7 Mbps at the same resolution.


Would it be possible to modify the firmware so the SJ11 can achieve a similar bitrate to the SJ4000?

I have sold this camera a long time ago. The firmware is a piece of sh*t and SJCAM is not going to fix it.

There is no way to make changes in firmware without reverse engineering. As I don;t have this camera, I can' do this.
