SJ4000 wifi Record Time Length

I notice that when doing a long recording time it breaks the video into about 35 minute segments.
Is this the norm?

Its normal, i believe its on the 4 Gb size per file.

I got about two hours of continuous recording on battery power only, camera stationary, set at 1080p30, Wi-Fi and display off. However, that was a video of me doing yard work (boring!). I don't really know how these things work but if the background changes very little, does the camera use less memory than if you're using it as a dash cam for instance, where stuff is moving around all the time? I don't know how much memory was used.
