4K / 24 FPS sound like it is extrapolated, and i kind of hope so cuz the current 4K sensors dont do too well in low light.
Will be interesting to see how well EIS do, this is very important in body cams i think, but of course in low light it will probably not work well, like so many action cameras too.
OIS would probably be the best solution for body cameras.

I will check if it is real 4k or not. i shot some footage... will upload it in a bit...

It's been a few weeks since we first received the SJCAM A20 wearable body mount camera. The A20 definitely improves on its predecessor, the A10 in several ways.

The A20 has a Sony IMX335 sensor, whereas the A10 has the IMX323. A20 has the NTK9660 and the A10 has the 96658 chipset.

The A20 has a nice sturdy build which definitely is IP65 waterproof. The larger 2.33-inch front facing touchscreen is also a plus.

Something that we forgot to mention in our unboxing video below is that the A20 also supports Bluetooth remote which is convenient if you want to use the A10 as a bodycam, security cam or dashcam. Just press the button to quickly begin capturing 4k footage.

The SJCAM A20 is a very sturdy wearable body mount camera. We shot video with the A20 set at 4k 24fps with Gyro Stablization on. The body camera was mounted to my t-shirt so wasn't in my hand or mounted down by a strap.

Let us know if you'd also like to see night footage.

yeah the 335 are 5 Mpix as i recall, so only "2/3" of the way there
It is also 4:3 aspect ratio, so you need to throw away some of that 2/3rds and end up with 44%.

Thats right, a issue i often forget with sensors.

yup, the A20 BodyCam has interpolated 4k. ... I think it definitely improves on the a10. If there were an external mic with clip, i think it would be a great vlogging cam. Also need to find a chest mount. I imagine this could be a good dashcam. Unfortunately, i don't have a car or I'd shoot some sample footage. will get to shooting some night footage if anyone wants to see that.

I finished the a20 blog post here

We have SJCAM A20 bodycam night time footage:

Also, check out waterfront footage shot using the A20 bodycam:

Can this SJCam A20 be used as webcam ?
I tried to connect, laptop finds it as camera through USB , but it doesn't show any feed , it just gives black screen. Any way to get it working as webcam? Do I need a driver ? or an app ?

Welcome to the forum desil.
Most dash and for that matter action cameras they will act like a mass storage device when connected to a PC but thats also it as far as i know.

If anyone who owns SjCam A20 has ever tried it connecting as webcam with their laptop . is your laptop able to get feed from camera after detecting the camera on lan ? Mine says camera on but doesn't show any feed, just blank screen.
