SJCAM SJDASH Dashcam - 3" Sony IMX323 Car camera

Ha ha, i just made some photo comparation, enjoy them. :)
The lens of the SJ- (is that correct shorthand for SJDASH?) seems to be the same size as the whole of the Viofo WR1 :D

Yes, but SJDASH have an 3.0" LCD, so it,s normal for that size. But belive me, SJDASH have a good construction, it's felling premium in your hand with that metal frame and all the material on it, it's felling like SJ7 Stars, i like the construction very much ;)

Does the bird come with as standard or was it a bonus gift.

That suction mount look very unique.

@Viking @sjcam_official Lol... Sunshine (the bird) was excited about the package. DHL used a qoute "Getting everyone excited!!"

Now for pictures. Mounted and size comparison with the SJ7.

Glad you were able to get your hands on it so quickly in Romania... yes, it does feel good in the hands and has premium construction. Let us know if you have any good SJDASH footage :)

Yes, since it is the SJDASH, SJ works :) We had been calling it the M30..... People on facebook voted to call it the SJDASH though... Thanks for your comparison photos :)

The camera and for that matter the box / bundle feel sturdy to me, i really liked unwrapping it in my car, and i was quick to get it up on my windscreen.
Suction cup are not ideal IMO, but it work even on the grid area in front of my mirror.
So now the SJ dash cam are up there and i am about to preview my footage and stitch a head 2 head video together Vs the SG9665GC that's front and center on my windscreen.

Looking forward to more footage! Please remember to upgrade to v1.1 firmware has the v1.0 has Xcamera watermark.... SJDASH v1.1

The mounting solution are a bit flimsy, i can see you have jello too on the bumpy parts of the road

So you think it is not tight enough in the mount?

Here is a compilation of day and night footages:

Original video can be downloaded here.
Hello Bogdan, Thanks for sharing. Do you think you can update your fw to v1.1? The first batch had the OEM Xcamera watermark.

SJDASH V1.1

I dont think it is the camera that shake in the mount, i am more inclined to think it is the whole mount that is sent into vibrations.
I have looked at it but i cant seem to tighten any of the joints any more, and i dont think its the suction cup, that one i am feeling really good about cuz it look like a strong little sucker.
I have tried to wiggle the camera in the mounting frame and i can not hear any thing that would indicate there is slack in the grip on the camera, but i must say after using it for a while that the mount also dont grip strong on the camera, so the chance of it going flying / come off in a crash are there i think.
I will see if i can find some uneven road to do some vibration testing without there beeing too much road noise in the car at the same time.
The sensitive SJDASH microphone should pick up any rattling if it is something loose in the mount.

Okay, we have already allotted SJDASH tester units. We will keep a shortlist though as well. There will probably be another model coming soon as well too.

Nobody has ever asked me (nor me them) to test a dashcam.

Wouldn't mind the opportunity.

The card slot on the right side is an immediate turn-off, at least for me.

Why is this?
Because the car I drive, like so many others, doesn't have enough space between the RVM and the windscreen to put any camera. I had to mount my camera to the left of the RVM, as close as possible to it. If the card slot was on the right side of the camera, it would make the task of removing the card (everyday, in my case) completely impossible without having to rotate or unmount the camera. Even in LHD countries I've seen many people installing it this way. The right-facing position of the RVM creates enough space to mount a camera on the left of it. There's only one place for the card slot which fits any mounting: on the bottom of the camera.

But this is just me, I'm sure that for many people it's completely irrelevant where the card slot is located.

@all, Please send us original SJDASH footage to tony.sjcam@gmail.com we'd like to make a compilation for our social media and for potential customers.

Thanks!
