Tried a number of cables, all of which work with my cycling Garmin computer, but I just cant get the Viofo to show on my Mac.

It's generally better to use a USB micro SD card reader anyway

That's what I did. Used a microsd to sd adapter and plugged it in to the macbook.
A119 not recognized by computer
A119 not recognized by two different computers and I tried the short cable that came with it and 2 other USB cables one from a cell phone and the other from smart card reader. The camera comes on when plugged in but that's it.
