In the US they have been installing wire rope traffic dividers in the median of interstate highways. Three or four strands of galvanized wire rope. They're supposed to keep cars from crossing into traffic on other side. When I'm riding my motorcycle, those things remind me of those tensioned wire hard boil egg slicers. They sure as hell serve to keep me the heck off of the median!
