SOOCOO C30 vs ELE EXPLORER

Hello everyone,

I am about to buy my first action camera. I have read many articles and finally I just have only two competitors.

SOOCOO C30 - Novatek 96660 and SONY IMX078
ELE EXPLORER - Allwinner V3 and OmniVision 4689

I am not really familiar which sensor and chipset are better so I would be thankful for your advice. Also I am not interested in shooting 4K videos so I don't pay attention to this feature. Which one has sharper image, more natural colors and better stabilization?

What are you going to use it for?

The OVI4689 is used in a lot of dashcams, it is a good sensor but only 4MP, the IMX078 is also a decent sensor used in a lot of Action Cams but not so good in the dark.

I would probably choose a GitUp Git1 instead...

Hey, thanks for the advice! I will use it mostly in daylight scenes (on the beach, underwater, cycling or hiking, maybe sometimes as a dashcam as well).

I also forgot to say that my price range is around $70

i reviewed a discovery action cam which was basically a rebadged soocoo camera. i was NOT impressed. i wouldn't recommend it. it worked, but only just. the firmware felt unfinished, and they weren't interested in updating it either.

I second the recommendation for the Git1. without accessories, it may be close to your budget. and as a bonus, pretty much ALL gopro accessories, including cases, will fit the Git1. so you will have plenty of options there.
