Need some help in trying to figure a dash cam install. I want a standalone dvr that I can mount under my seat, source my own camera, and mount that camera as stealthy as possible. The goal is to try to make the install as inconspicuous as possible.
My searches don't show a lot of dvrs (with camera input only) out there and the ones that I do see are limited in resolution.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a dvr with camera inputs?

Hello,

Most household DVR's use a 12v power source, so you can pretty much use any DVR you want. The problem is size and features. There are quite a few small DVR's in the market (eBay, etc), but finding one that will allow 1920x1080p is harder and more expensive.

Here is one that does 960x480p, is small, cheap and 12v http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4CH-Channel- ... 137wt_1163 .

Here is one that does 1920x1080p @ 30fps, is larger (could fit in trunk), more expensive and 12v http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HD-SDI-4-Cha ... 686wt_1163 .

I'm sure there are many more choices. You just have to weigh up cost, installation, features, extra battery, etc.

Cheers :) Mario
