Strange colours - is the dashcam broken?

Hi guys

I have a Blackvue 650GW in my car. It has been working perfectly for years but just recently the colours have gone weird!

They are all like this:



Does anyone know what's gone wrong? Can it is be fixed or is it time to buy a new dashcam?

From what I’ve seen here with such images, the sensor has developed a fault or the ribbon cable connecting the sensor to the mainboard has come loose. You could try opening it up and reseating the cable. If that doesn’t help, time for a new camera.

I kind of suspected it was the sensor. It is maybe 8 or 9 years old. Time for a new one, I think.
