Street Guardian SGZC12SG built-in-GPS & NEW Capacitive Smart-Touch Screen

You should be fine with the 12.2V setting - I'm in a Passat CC with a six month old battery and I had no issues at all with it running well over six hours.

I'm actually running 12.1V at the moment and I haven't had any issues starting the car (apart from the one time I was playing around and turned off the limit altogether and nearly got stranded in a shopping estate car park :D )

The biggest issue you may have is fully charging the battery if you only do short trips, but the G uses hardly any power and so should last for a good while - mine literally lasted days in that config like you have :)

Thanks. most of my journeys are 30/40 mins so 12.2v should be okay, is there any advantage of 12.2 against 6 hour cut off or is just a battery thing?

You should be ok - basically if you go with the voltage option it will last as long as it can until it hits that cut off - if you go for the six hours then you're only covered for six hours after turning the engine off whereas with the voltage option it can last much longer :)

Got everything setup and to my liking. I just did the new firmware upgrade. Did a test drive and checked couple of video files through registrar viewer and it shows KM. Anyway to change it to miles. I changes the settings in registrar viewer to miles. But are we supposed to change it to miles on the unit itself? There was an option before firmware upgrade to change from km to miles now there isn't? Any help or maybe there is something simple i am missing thank you in advance guys.

The KPH MPH option is in the time zone settings page of the Panorama. That will change the hard coded stamp version. RV reads the embedded GPS data inside the MP4 itself. Change RV to imperial. So there are two settings to get MPH

GPS Question...

Would the Pano G Dash Cam GPS system/module affect my Sat Nav GPS system?

Are we going to see next gen Panorama with Sony Exmor RS IMX230? Jokiin? Maybe? :)

Finished setting up the SGZC12SG, very pleased with the quality of the videos, I am getting an auto electrician to hard wire it in the end of next week, (not comfortable hiding wires in pillars with side airbags)
I have a Multi Safer device, can I choose two options ie battery cut off at 12.2v and 12 hour cut off? Assuming both options will work, (which ever triggers first!) I don't drive every day and occasionally the car can sit on the path for a few days.
I have read numerous threads regarding this and still can not find a definitive answer.

Not sure how many people would be interested in low profile ball-joint mount, but here is my DIY project
( click ) >>> for Panorama G ( SGZC12SG ). Low profile ball-joint bracket / mount
I hope if there will be enough interest for it, some factory might start producing it one day, because it will fit for wide range of dashcams which have same bracket arm connector as Pano G.

That's mega mate, I did mean to ask if you were going to commercialise that magnetic type mount you were using as well?

Looks good though - is that a similar low profile to the ones @Pier28 is selling?

I do sell all types of mounts as well, same as Jon, but it is not similar, its completely different. Other low profile ones have only 2 axis adjustments, this one here can be moved in 3-axis.
I would "commercialise" few good bracket / mounts ideas I came out in the past, but for that big $ needed ;)

Few fresh ideas coming soon as well.

Looking good there Niko. That would be yet another great option.

Yes the included (USA edition) suction cup one and optional short adhesive one is 2-axis, but once the teeth are tightened you can instantly twist swivel-pivot 360 without loosening anything first. (Aim to the side or face back towards passengers etc)

Yeah, I have those also. In most cars its OK to have only 2-axis ( up/ down and left / right ), but I had installed into few cars where 3-axis mount would be preferred in order to get correct footage angle.

Below is 3-axis diagram of what I mean.
On non-balljoint mounts Y-axis with "B" arrow adjustment is missing , which is needed for some cars, depending on windshield curve and how far from centre of the wind-shield you want to mount a dashcam.

Is your new DIY mount even shorter too?

Not shorter, same as 3M permanent mount low profile. But at least now can move camera in all 3-axis.
I wish this would be in mass-production. There are probably around 100 different popular dashcams ( LS300W, G1W, Pano G, and so on ) which uses same type of bracket mount, where this low profile 3-axis ball-joint mount could be used.
