Temporary (suctioncup) holder for Blackvue 500 / 600 series?

You could be right, Alan. And I don't believe BlackVue would make that design mistake I described earlier.
 
I may be wrong however this suction cup looks like that the standard camera holder has been secured to a already manufactured suction cup such as this on e-bay
