Texas heat. Basic cam. I'm thinking the B40 A118C.

I live in Texas so my camera will be faced with the scorching sun. I want discreet. Am I good to go with the capacitor version of the B40-A18C? If there are alternative suggestions I wouldn't mind one with a separate mount. That way when I put my sunshade up I can conceal the camera. It doesn't appear that I could do that with the B40 since it mounts straight to the glass.

There have been some reports of the plastic lens mount deforming in extreme heat causing focus issues. I don't know if any of these incidents are with the A118-C or just with the battery version.

I have an A118-C in my wife's car that's parked outside all day and haven't noticed any issues yet - but then it hasn't been real hot here in MI yet this year either.
