the RC (radio control) and electric rideables thread

Yeah , tricky stuff .. Does the flight controller require programming ( setting up ) ..

It requires a lot of things to be set up, the parameter list in enormous as you need to setup not only basic functions but also, fail safe, channel assignments, gps, compass, telemetry and lots more other stuff. I've missed the gyro stabilization (reverse) function...

I know @TechTronic9000
I just wish I could customize the rates on my micro quads for indoor flight, or maybe use my hobby grade TX for them. The little remotes are so twitchy so it's hard to fly smooth.

I have good the Taranis Q-X7 and I will also get a all in one multi protocol module, so I will be able to bind all toys and hobby grades to it, the Open TX is really nice and kind of intuitive to use so you can make different profiles, different rates, etc.

Recently the Turnigy 9XR pro was on sale , very cheap ! Probably around $50 USD
If I did not already have the 9XR and 9XRpro , I would have been tempted by another 9XR pro ..
But I think the Q-X7 has to be my next Tx , I have a few modules that could go into the back and it could take care of business 90% of the time ( heck maybe even 100% )

Hehehehehe , there is a new Tx out there that does the same thing as the multi module ..

I have now ditched the HPI and ordered the Axial SCX 10 II instead, and to go with it the 2 speed kit as i will be driving alongside another 2 speed car mostly.

O and a few little tools too, but that's also it i am all out-shopped for this month, if i go further which i would like then i have to live off air or things i find in dumpsters for the rest of the month.

The most expensive item the car itself was paid for months ago when i ordered the HPI

Will be gutting the electronics from my RC4WD trailfinder 2 as that's good stuff and i cant really afford anything else.

New addition to my parking lot:

Feiyue FY06

- Brushless outrunner motor + 6WD system

Some of my initial conclusions after the test run:
- Lots of power from the outrunner motor, PLUS: it sounds phenomenally nice (to my ears).
- Good battery life, tortured it a lot and I was still at 3.75V/cell.
- Very good traction from the wheels.
- The 6 wheel suspension works very nice for crawling and it will follow the terrain easy thus giving extra traction.
- It will roll over easy.
- Can get a good beating with no issues (good soft plastic).

Probably a more realistic scale model , better parts ...
You can pay North of $1000 USD for high quality RC cars .. ( Not really Toys any longer )

wish i had time to play/review as much stuff as you... :p
My time schedule had been mad, in the last ~4 months i only get ~ 4 hours of sleep. Night time is the only spare time I have left for much of the stuff I do / review.

Last big review (not R/C) was this:

Yeah but they will be rtr, with radio, ESC, servo, and motor. This is just a body (and not a very good one from the photos) and running gear. It has places for lights but didn't even include those, even though LEDs are dirt cheap, esp when bought in bulk.

No that's not uncommon that a RC truck kit can end up with such a price, and it can get much worse.

I will agree that car from BG seem to be pretty expensive, you will be much better off with a Axial SCX 10 II - Vantera Acender - Or maybe one of the Gmade scalers, most of which you can upgrade to fully alloy and a final price tag well over 1000 USD.
But all those plastic trucks drive pretty well as is and if need be only need a few ALU updates, and then if you like some fancy beadlock ALU wheels and better tires though the supplied tires are by no means bad.

499 will get you the SCX 10 II i am building ( i have kit that's slightly different ) and as a combo deal with everything you need. http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/ax90047-b.htm

And then later add sweet Vanquish axels at 100 - 200 USD a pop, and other nice alu things, that you probably dont need but are a part of the addiction.

I wasn't looking at buying a crawler... It just showed up on the suggested products and made me go wtf.

I have a WLtoys a969 that I have been upgrading with metal driveline parts, ball bearings (instead of just the stupid brass bushings), bigger motor/ESC, metal wheels/better tires... I think I have maybe $300 in it so far including the initial purchase of the car. Right now I'm having a problem where it seems the driveshaft gear isn't meshing properly with the ring gear on the rear diff... Gotta try to find or make a tiny washer to shim the driveshaft gear out a little so they mesh right and actually put power down. That's partly caused by the fact that I modified a full metal diff from a different company to work in here, and apparently goofed when filing things down, so now it's as if the driveshaft is too short.

Next up, new shocks that actually hold oil instead of leaking everywhere!

Do you still remember my plane crash, well now it's fixed and after tweaking the FC it now also flies and it does it great !

Nice - Really nice ...

And another bashing, mudding and fun session with the FY-06

I did lipo maintenance the past 2 days, will have to throw out 6 batteries ( all 3 cell - one lifepo TX battery and 5 drive battery's between 1300 mah and 2500 mah )

But its all good they where all old batteries that have given me many hours of fun, but now my battery stash are much smaller.
At least my large 5 cell batteries for my train where in perfect condition.

My friend have entered the towing business, and yes he have also tried the RC version of plow king both on car and rail.

A little footage from our trip yesterday.
