Today, I have received a well packed package from VUEROiD and this package contains the new VUEROiD S1 4K Infinite Dash Camera. I will add a few pictures here, and
add comments as I install and put this dash camera to good use. I am not a professional reviewer but I will strive to post factual and relevant information.

My first impressions are this is a well designed, and aesthetically pleasing dash camera. The shelf pack is quite attractive, the dash camera and and parts are well packed, there is a quite nice manual, and
included cables, hooks, etc. for installation.

This is a pre-sales unit that is being delivered to reviewers as well; while this is a pre-sales unit, there is not expected to be significant changes to the soon to be announced shelf packs ready for delivery.

Here are links to the Vueroid S1-4K information site, the support page, and the Amazon page.

I will present the material as I go through various hardware and software features of the S1 4K Infinite, identifying areas for improvement so a superior product is made available to the customer.

I have been working with the VUEROiD S1 4K Infinity for a day or two, and I must say that this is a delightfully different dashcam. I like this implementation of a dashcam that is designed to be a premium product. I won't force readers to scour a tome of information but offer my observations, thoughts, and a few photos.

The S1 4K Infinite is designed, in my view, around the file system, the AI, and the lens. Each of these design elements is well thought out and has the intention of providing the customer with the best image possible, the best reliability and quality of components, and an easy-to-master user interface and app.

Let's take a brief look at the file system. The video and still images are managed by a file system that is designed for image integrity. If you power down the dashcam or lose power for any reason, your video and stills are preserved with integrity. With that knowledge, you should understand if you alter any component of the file system by adding an interior or rear camera, the file system will reinitialize and reformat the memory card. The S1 4K Infinite is designed to be a "set and forget" dashcam which you do not need to fuss with. Once the main dashcam is installed, and the interior and rear dashcams are in place, there should be no need to fuss with the S1, other than removing the memory card. There is no need for the user to format the memory card; it would be an unfruitful endeavor as the S1 Infinite will want to reformat the memory card to its specifications.

To set the features on the S1 Infinite, the front screen and buttons can be used, or the VUEROiD HUB application which is available for Apple iOS and Android. Once the app is installed, power up the S1 Infinite dashcam, press the WiFi button and wait about 15 seconds. A voice then instructs to connect to the dashcam with the app. VUEROiD means exactly that. Start the HUB app on your cell phone and answer the questions. On the first start-up, you must accept full access to the Local Network, and permit Location while the app is in use, and I would recommend accepting full access to Photos. I did let it turn on Bluetooth, though in my case I doubt it was needed. The app will then initiate the process of enabling WiFi on your cell phone and completing the connection. The connection process is really this simple. The VUEROiD HUB is the "Master and Commander" between your cell phone and the S1 Infinite. I found this connection to be very reliable and felt like the app and the connection was very solid. When using the HUB, the WiFi connection will be dropped if you open the WiFi window of your cell phone. Once in the HUB, stay in the HUB, make the settings, etc. and then exit.

edit::some pictures have been removed due to developmental changes. The processes remain the same though.

Attached are screen shots from my iPhone. These images are fairly self-explanatory. The Memory Allocation is unique, and is a part of the file system integrity method used by VUEROiD. There are more options in the S1 Infinite settings, but only a few are shown here.

Working with the S1 4K Infinite and recognizing the build quality, capabilities, and well-thought-out software and GUI, I believe I should reference an image from the S1 4K Infinite promo sheet.

I believe this S1 4K Infinite lives up to the mission statement from VUEROiD.

Let Others Do Fancy
VUEROiD, We Do Dashcam
Here are two more plates from the promo sheet.

I will add a few more photos here and more information about channels, resolution, and frame rate. Camera resolution and frame rate govern HDR and the ability to set its time features. VUEROiD reserves the HDR feature set for multi-channel, low-resolution camera setups, and rightly so. There has been much discussion concerning HDR, time of use, and unnecessary use at higher resolutions. The video-enhancing features of HDR and Infinite Plate Capture are reserved for 30 FPS. As shown below, changing the resolution will require a format of the file system. The file system and its integrity are meant to protect the video and images on the memory disk. The file system space on the memory disk is 'recalibrated' for memory allotment for multi-channel and resolution changes. The video and image data is important and VUEROiD goes to great lengths to protect that data. As I mentioned before, this is a 'set and forget' dashcam, and once installed, the owner expects the dashcam to operate without daily interaction from the owner, and to record and store the video with full integrity.

The VUEROiD S1 4K Infinite has a unique capability of accepting 12 VDC and 5 VDC power inputs to run, or test the dashcam.

The S1 4K Infinite does parking mode power management at the dashcam, the hardwire harness has the standard red (ACC) and yellow (BAT) leads, a ground lead and the power barrel that goes
into the S1 4K. The red and yellow leads, each have a 3 amp, in-line fuse

The S1 4K can be powered with the barrel connector from either the wiring harness or cigarette lighter adapter. This DC power barrel, is a 3-pole angled adapter and seat firmly in the detatchable GPS / Power module on the back of the S1 4K. As well, power can be applied via a USB-C connector on the side of the S1 4K.

If you are bench testing the S1 4K, and using an linear or switching power supply, the Red and Yellow leads will be attached to the positive side of the supply, and the harness ground would go to negative side of the supply. Using a Siglent SPD 3303C Linear Power Supply I tested using 12.20 VDC and 2 amps with out any issues. A power bank and USB-C can be used at the side of the dash cam. The USB-C side of the dashcam takes a 5 VDC input, with less than 2 amps. As the barrel power adapter is a 3-pole adapter, use caution with 2-pole adapters as are found on most AC wall power supplies.

A quick look at the three cameras. VUEROiD has put a good bit of effort in the design and manufacturing, and I am impressed with the 'fit and finish' of the cameras and cabling. You will see a slightly different color for the front camera and pivot housing, which I find appealing. The main chassis lens is full adjustable and comes with a CPL. The main chassis is attached to the GPS / Power module via a clever and quite effective 'slide and snap' action. This GPS / Power module provides 3 ports for power, interior and rear cameras. All connections are sufficiently firm that I do not expect them to vibrate out.

The rear camera is a horizontal arrangement and features a two piece wiring cable. This rear camera cable end is cylindrical, and according to my Mitutoyo caliper is 11 mm in diameter. The cable that connects the front chassis to the rear cam has one end angled and one end straight. Either end can be used at the rear camera, depending if the install is on a hatchback or the standard sedan windshield. I would expect there to be little issues with installing the rear camera.

The interior camera cable, has a length of 1 meter ( 39 inch ) which should be sufficient for most any installation. The interior camera angle is adjusted and locked in place with a thumb-wheel arrangement that should hold the position quite well.

Power and camera leads are attached at the top of the GPS / Power module. The two outside positions, DC IN and IN-CAM accept the angled connectors, the center R-CAM has a straight connector. A rather nice arrangement as the cable will not interfere with each other. As you can see, the GPS / Power module has a 12-pin power and data arrangement, and four "slide and snap' lock-in tabs.

The S1 4K Infinite offers the "Auto REC Off Zone" feature and offers three areas or zones, where parking mode can be turned off. This has been a much coveted feature in dashcams and it is great to see that VUEROiD is offering parking zones on the S1 4K. The graphics offer some more information, this is a feature that many of us are looking forward to.

Not that I have seen, but it is on my list of items to look into. At present, I tend to think the SSID cannot be changed, as the SSID characters will change to indicate a 2G or 5G WiFi connection. That tends to make me think it is hard coded.

How about a heat test ?

VUEROiD does extensive heat testing and have determined the operating range of -20C to 70C ( -4F to 158F ). We are entering our 'hot' season now and I will be testing the S1 4K Infinite, attached to the windscreen and facing the sun, with all three channels.

Great. So you will be testing with a hardware kit? By any chance you get a hand on OBD cable?

Yes, I will be using the hardwire kit. I do not have an OBD for this S1, not sure if one will be offered in the future. The hardwire kit is a basic wiring harness with a 3 amp fuse on each lead that connects to the vehicle fuse panel.

Thanks. I saw an OBD cable in the booklet which you shared that's the reason I asked.

I don't own a Viofo A329S or A329T, but people have stated it implements the screen turning off and other attempts at mitigating heat. I know the A139 Pro just shuts down if it gets hot.

It'll be interesting to see how the S1 Infinite does on a Denver, Colorado hot day @lufa6977

Let me ask VUEROiD about that OBD as I was not provided one, so...not real sure what they intend with the ODB.

I had experience with the A139 Pro and always used it with the hardware kit. During the summer, the camera fail to exit parking mode even after restarting and rest it does not work properly. I encountered various issues, and after getting a replacement, I faced a problem with face extraction. I'm convinced that heat damage was the cause of the camera's issues. However, I get received a partial refund, and I must say that Viofo's customer service is excellent. I was curious why the Iroad X10 Pro hasn't been tested here since I recently saw it in Saudi Arabia.

Currently I am in Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Altitude is about 1300 AGL, lots of clear sky and direct sun. We have had a handfull of +90F days. I am eager to get the S1 4K Infinite into my car. Presently I am going through the hardware and HUB app looking for issues that can be corrected prior to release. I received a copy of the VUEROiD S1 PC Viewer today and was pleased to see it would install on Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. I am a Linux Debian user so that saves me from buying, or borrowing a Win 11 PC.

Viofo has wonderful customer service, but the A139 I believe was notorious for overheating and shutting down (by design). When the camera reached 65C, it powered off to prevent damage to electronics. In a country like UAE where your temperatures are extreme, the A139 Pro wouldn't have fared well.

I had another Viofo A139 Pro before this unit, and the supercap died. Replacement camera has worked fine now without issue.
