Having a lot of trouble getting F200 to connect to wifi to use Thinkware app.
Anyone have or had similar issues... any fixes? Thx

What phone do you use? Can you go into a bit more detail of what's happening please? (Can you connect to WiFi network ok? etc)

Hello There, Please try the process below depending on your smartphone type to connect to the Dash Cam. If you are still having any issues feel free to reach out at support@thinkware.com or 1-844-865-9273

How to Connect with Wi-Fi (iOS): (F200/F800/F800Pro/Q800Pro)

  • Go to your Phone’s Settings App> Cellular > Scroll to Bottom > Wi-Fi Assist Disabled (Keep Disabled)
  • Press the Dash Cam’s Wi-Fi Button
  • Connect to the Thinkware Wi-Fi Network with the default password "123456789"
  • Open the Thinkware Cloud App
  • If not connected, Tap the “Not Connected” Bar
  • Click Wi-Fi and press Next until you hear “Connected to a Smartphone”
How to Connect with Wi-Fi (Android): (F200/F800/F800Pro/Q800Pro)

  • Go to your Phone’s Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Top Right Corner (either 3 Vertical Dots or Advanced)
  • Switch to Mobile Data > Disabled (Keep Switch to Mobile Data Disabled)
  • Press the Dash Cam’s Wi-Fi Button
  • Connect to the Thinkware Wi-Fi Network with the default password "123456789"
  • Open the Thinkware Cloud App
  • If not connected, Tap the “Not Connected” Bar
  • Click Wi-Fi and press Next until you hear “Connected to a Smartphone”

Just thought, make sure you are using the Thinkware Cloud App too and NOT the Dashcam Viewer.......

Is it disconnecting after a couple of minutes of not using the LINK App? Or are you connecting and it's then immediately disconnecting?

Thanks

Im having a similar issue trying to connect the 1st time to review settings on f200. I have reset it and had the ignition on disabled mobile data on galaxy s20 but still having the same issue where wifi does not stay on in connection

It's not the phone automatically jumping back to a WiFi network that does have Internet access is it? Usually on Android when you connect to the Camera you get a Notification about no Internet Access and it asks if you want to stay connected to that device or not. You Tick the 'don't ask again' box and then Stay Connected.

Otherwise if you have a VPN running on the phone that can cause issues as it encrypts the WiFi signal.

Im getting similar with galaxy s20 with the f200. It tried to connect. The light flashes blue and then the yellow light goes to red and wifi drops out.
