Hi all

Am new here. Since my car got hit and run in a both monthly and hourly underground car park near my apartment (which is where i park my car) i invested a Blackvue DR650 and got it hardwired by a shop with the Power Magic Pro which only give me 4-6 hours extra in parking mode so i'm thinking of getting an external power bank battery which hopefully would give it 16-24 hours of recording in parking mode.

Saw some batteries like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/121398556431wouldn't mind to invest a little bit more to make sure it's capacity and quality though.

My most concern is the adapters / connectors, i need to run the 12v male cigarette lighter plug from the blackvue into a female socket with adapter to the external power bank battery... which i'm not quite sure which one to get in ebay.
Will this one work without any issues?

wouldn't want to change the 12v cigarette power cord into others and hide the wires again, just want to get the right adapter cable together with the battery connected and put in the glove box which is next to the fuse box.

Your advice is highly appreciated

Thanks in advance

my advice is -

read the battery sellers small print as it clearly says "the price is for a 2600mah battery"....

:) Thanks! i gotta find another seller.

Sorry for my bad English, maybe i should put it like this: Do you think the following connections with the external battery will successfully power up the dash cam?

Car Cigarette Lighter Male plug (from the dash cam) ---->into the Female Socket to 5.5 x 2.1mm adapter cable:

With USB to 5.5 x 2.1mm adapter:

To the USB Battery Power Bank:

I don't know how much power that particular camera requires or how big your car battery is, but normally a car battery can power a dashcam for several days. The PMP will turn off before the battery is empty but I would expect to get a lot more than 4-6 hours from it in normal conditions. I think you should consider upgrading your car battery instead of using a powerbank, it will be far more convenient. Many cars can easily be fitted with larger batteries than standard because the battery holder is designed to take a battery for a larger engine, or a diesel engine, it's unlikely that you have a diesel variant in Hong Kong so there is probably space, if not then there is probably still a higher capacity alternative available...
