One of my U3000 units stopped holding the correct time or date. It routinely switches between 1970, 1978, and 2066, and several variations that are not the current year or month. I reached out to Thinkware previously and was given a runaround that it was the microSD card at fault, verified it wasn't, then got the same pitiful discount on purchasing a replacement...I bought two of these within months of each other, and one survived about 1.5 years. Having dashcam video with incorrect date and time may be inadmissable, depending on the court, judge, attorneys, etc, so the unit is effectively useless at this point. Plus it makes it a ROYAL pain to locate the correct video.
I figured since I have a useless dashcam, I might as well explore it. Beneath a couple very obvious connector blank plate covers, I found what looks to be a mini HDMI port on the left side, and a definite microUSB port on the rear, right next to the BAT connection. I've tried accessing the microUSB a few times but nothing appears on the connected computer.
I strongly felt this was a programming issue but have just enough skills to be dangerous. Has anyone else had success on either of these ports?
