I just received the U3000 Pro with LTE module. I have followed the instructions as shown in the video link and the unit will not register my device
in the thinkware connected app.
When I scan my barcode in the app and tap the request certification tab it says check certification number and try again. I am connected to the internet and the camera says the LTE module is connected but the app will not let me register so I cannot use any of the monitoring features when I'm not in the car. When I use the dashcam link app in my car it shows the u3000 pro and connects and shows the front and rear camera video feed. I don't know if this is an issue with the thinkware connect app or server issues but it is very frustrating with cost of this product and its not working.

Hi there,

We do apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused you. Please retry some workarounds below

  • The SIM card is installed in the LTE Dongle
  • The LTE dongle is connected to the USB-C port
  • The car is in an open space
  • Placement for the LTE dongle has no obstruction
  • Using the Link app, set the USB-C setting to LTE modem
  • The orange light is blinking
  • Start the registration via the Connected app -> choose LTE -> scan barcode or manually enter the ICCID number
  • Reboot the dashcam
  • Reinsert the SIM card
  • Unplug and replug the USB-C cable
  • Drive 10 minutes to establish the SIM card LTE connection

Reinsert the SIM card
Confuse me a bit, CUZ before that there is no mentioning of removing SIM card
The very first item is " The SIM card is installed in the LTE Dongle "

It's a list of possible ways to fix a problem, rather than a step-by-step solution to a problem

I have tried all of the steps that you listed above. The thinkware connect app will not certify the dashcam or LTE module. the module has an internet connection and says connected. The x is a solid yellow but when I click request certification it will not certify the module. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times and it will not certify. I have driven around for hours and it still will not certify the dashcam. I cannot access any cloud services. I also have a thinkware U3000 that I was using before I upgraded to the U3000 pro and the thinkware connect will no longer let me register my U3000 now and it has been registered for over a year. I have tried to register with 2 different phones and it will nor certify my dash cam.

I told them in email their video was wrong. I emailed them steps on how I made mine work because the video was wrong.

I was then told i was wrong. Yet you are now the 3rd person I know testing it where it does not work and mine does.
The Thinkware Connected app remains to be a challenge everytime. Its a shame because there dashcamlink app is great now. Too bad they could not just get it all integrated into 1.

Can you share the steps you used to get it to work thanks? For the price of this unit, it should not have all these bugs in the Thinkware Connected app.

The module connects to the network but the app itself will not certify the card in the app. I have tried everything under the sun. There is something wrong with the thinkware connect software. It will no longer register my U3000 which doesn't have a sim card. I have no way to access the cloud features when I'm not in the car. I have call their tech support and they haven't been any help at all. I'm sure they are aware of this issue.

I have the thinkware connected app on my iPhone 16 and I always get the message
that the number is invalid when I try to certify the dashcam. So i tried the app on my wife's android phone and scanned the barcode
the apps says that this dashcam is already registered but it does not log into the cloud services.

Hi there,

Put a subject U3000PRO dash cam already registered

I received the LTE module earlier today for the U3000 Pro that was installed on Monday. For the life of me, I cannot get to the point where the “orange light is blinking” (it’s not). I tried multiple power cycles of the U3000 Pro, toggling the USB-C connection setting, re-inserting the SIM card, and so on. I did open a support case earlier on this (Case ID 176594)

I’m on an iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 26.3) and the camera capture of the barcode is too fuzzy to work - so I have tried to manually enter it and it’s throwing a “Check the certification number and try again.” message when I try to request certification in the connected app. I even verified the number on the SIM itself. But since the dashcam isn’t recognizing the LTE Module - that’s probably pointless to try that anyway. Connected Info in the Link App shows Modem = 0 and USIM Status is blank.

About the only thing I have not tried is having the car in the open (it’s in the garage) nor have I tried to drive around for 10 minutes. I may just let it sit to see if it just needs time (in the open while driving) to link up with the cell network.

Hi there,

It is advisable to register in an open space area to make sure you will get a strong LTE signal.

Please try these workarounds

Unplug/plug the LTE module cable from the front dash cam's USB-C

1. Dash cam settings> System settings> USB-C> Disabled, then press the arrow button on the top left corner to save the settings
2. Dash cam settings> System settings> USB-C> LTE Modem, then press the arrow button on the top left corner to save the settings
3. Observe if the BT/Wi-Fi LED turns into flashing orange; if not, reboot the dash cam by pressing the power button, ⏻ wait for 20 seconds, then press the power button ⏻ to turn it on and wait for the BT/Wi-Fi LED to turn flashing orange, then scan the SIM card barcode or enter it manually

Unfortunately, this didn’t help. Is this perhaps like the “old days” with cell phones where it was necessary to park next to the cell tower to get the SIM to be provisioned? Maybe my location doesn’t have a strong enough signal to get the SIM to be provisioned. If so, is there a place I should go near me (Crystal Lake, IL 60014) where I would get a strong enough signal to get the SIM provisioned? I know once it gets provisioned, that the signal strength can be less of an issue.

I had the car out for 30 minutes and tried the procedure again while I was about 10 miles away from home. Still no luck here. The WiFi light flashes between red/blue when it’s not connected to my iPhone (blue solid when connected via Bluetooth and green when connected via WiFi)

Hello, thank you for letting us know. We will respond to your ticket 176594 accordingly

I actually fixed my issue and I’m all good now. I didn’t know that I needed to further extract the micro sized aspect of the SIM card and place it UNDER the metal shield in the LTE module. Once I did so - everything worked!
