Just curious as a friend asked me, what the laws are. For instance regarding an incident be it a collision or an act of dangerous driving, would it hold up as substantial evidence to the Police and or insurance companies and also could the perpetrator challenge being filmed without permission and are there loopholes?

Cheers.

As long as you are in public then you are free to film, on private land obey any signs or instructions but otherwise you are free to film.

Always respect peoples privacy when publishing anything even if there is no law preventing publishing.

Police, courts and insurance companies will be happy to accept footage, but be aware that not everyone will view it in the same way that you do and if in court then expect it to be picked apart, it may turn out to be evidence against you instead of what you think it is.
