sorry i have been very busy. We will get to this. It is going to happen.
 
Putting this all into video is a lot of work so I am going to start releasing smaller video reviews of the individual products.

I've had people on Volvo Forums say they like the integrated look of the FitCamX, and I adamantly try to explain to no avail, that seamless integration doesn't equate to quality. Your video demonstrates what words cannot. The FitCamX are a low end product using old image sensors, likely upscaling from 2k ---> 4k, and lacking in ability to properly capture surrounding vehicles.

Yes I agree

Yes I have so many videos from all 12 of these units it just seems easier to do all 12 as separate reviews.

The best way to explain is to show people....I hate to agree, but the only way people will understand why the FitCamX isn't a worthy product, is to demonstrate. I'd make a video from each vehicle, and let the video quality explain itself.

We bought these cameras because customers ask us to install these all the time. They get mesmerized by the marketing but do not know how they actually perform. We want to educate people on what they are getting and how they perform

There are some things you don't skimp upon, and dashcams are one of them. My dashcam has paid itself off exponentially when I've been involved in an accident. Recently, a lady hit my car making a bad turn (crossed lanes and tire damaged passenger side), but and continued driving. She lied about it being her or her vehicle.....but dashcam video doesn't lie when it clearly captures a plate.

Without the video, I would have been out of luck.

I tell people you get what you pay for when it comes to technology and especially the optics on dashcams. I get your reasoning of "showing people" why not to buy these models. However, it seems like a waste to spend money to "educate people" who won't believe a professional opinion (yours) at face value.

Actually a lot of people end up asking us what we recommend after seeing these videos. However sometimes people buy this unit because they dont care and just want it to record while driving and dont care about any critical details. Not everyone can buy the premium dash cameras we offer. At least they have some form of protection. But we just want people to be aware of how they perform.

Most marketing Misleads customers. We try and remove the misleading marketing from our website when putting products in. FOr instance I do not include anything about AI license plate recognition from Vueroid. I try hard to remove 24hr parking mode because I feel it misleads people into thinking it will record for 24 hours a day no problem. We are not perfect but we try hard to create realistic expectations.

Why does this bother you?

SafeDriveSolutions provides a service to readers here and on other sites. Not everyone wants a $600 dashcam in their car. The low-end dashcams exist because there is a market for them. When SDS tests them, he is letting that market know the pros and cons. Readers can then decide whether to stay at the end or move on to something else.

There are plenty of low-income people in the U.S. who do not need an expensive dashcam, only a basic dashcam.

I get @SafeDriveSolutions wants to demonstrate whats on the market. However, attention is better given towards viable options that best serve customers. You can buy a good camera for the same price as these crappy ones.

You get what you pay for. Yes, any camera is better than no camera, but there are budget friendly models from "Reputable" manufacturers. Better to steer someone towards a Viofo A119 Mini 2, A229 Plus, Vantrue E1 Pro, etc than waste money on Low end Products that won't perform as advertised.

I.E. The Poor people needing a "decent camera" are better off buying one or two generation old reputable products for the same price than buying some "misleading" no name brand promising a lot buy delivering little.

See my point?

All models I mentioned still perform very well and retail for a similar price as the Botslab.

See Above. Low income people can still be educated to invest wisely on their purchases. Get the best bang for money spent.

Wouldn't it be better to steer people towards a generation or two older camera than "Misleading" and "Misrepresented" Off brands? I mean the Fitcam X (example) looks cool, advertises imx 335 at 4k, and delivers on none of its promises for reasons beaten to the ground.

Better to tell customers for the same money you're spending, here are cameras you can trust (Viofo A119 Mini, A229 Plus, Vantrue E1 Pro, etc).

our video shows you can expect these results from Viofo a329s and Vueroid S1 compared to botslab.

We are not pitchy. Just focusing on education.

Saying we recommend certain products becomes outdated quite quickly.

This is how you end up having the Viofo A119 V3 selling way past its prime.

1.) There's no such thing as useless dash cam, it can always be used as a bad example.
2.) You gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince.

How do we tell uneducated first time buyers what a "good" dash cam is without showing them what pieces of junk the "bad" ones are?
