Unboxing the 70mai X800 (4K dual cam) – Here are my first thoughts

Another flagship model from 70mai—the X800—is positioned as a high-definition dual-channel dashcam featuring 4K front recording and 1080p rear recording. It boasts a Sony STARVIS sensor, HDR, parking monitoring, and ADAS. Having acquired one myself, I'm particularly intrigued by its 360-degree recording capabilities. Drawing on my previous experience, I'll share my insights with you all.

Appearance
The host's exterior design, screen size, and material texture offer a remarkably novel aesthetic. I've been following its development since the X200 era.

Key Features
1. Front Recording: 4K HDR: Sharp image quality with preserved detail even in backlighting.
2. Sony STARVIS Night Vision: License plates remain visible in low-light conditions.
3. Rear Recording: 1080P: Provides supplementary rear-view coverage.
4. ADAS Driving Assistance: Distance warning, lane departure alert.
5. Parking Monitoring & Emergency Recording: Buffer protection prevents missed recordings.

As I've only just acquired this device, I shall replace my A800SE over the coming days to assess the 4k Omini's actual performance.
Incidentally, the 4k Omini's design is rather intriguing. Its animated effects are particularly appealing to younger users. (My sister is quite taken with this dashcam and the emoji thing.)

But might someone find the mounting angle somewhat awkward? I've noticed it doesn't sit quite right on my windscreen. (My vehicle has a central radar transmitter.)🤔

Using Experience

Afterwards, I shall still attempt to take photographs of the number plates for comparison.
Summary
The X800 strikes a balance between image quality and value for money. Its 4K front recording rivals flagship models, while HDR and STARVIS night vision prove highly practical in real-world use. Suitable for motorists seeking a high-definition dual-channel dashcam, particularly those prioritizing front recording over rear. However, I must say I'm rather disappointed with the 1080p recording quality. While built-in rear cameras face inherent limitations, one hopes 70mai may introduce rear options with 2K or 3K resolution in future iterations.

After a few holidays, I've gathered some images. Personally, I find the X800's design quite innovative. The image quality is sharp and, in my view, perfectly adequate for my everyday outdoor needs.

The drawback: I wish there were more options for rear-facing video resolution. 1080p simply doesn't meet my requirements anymore.
