Unresponsive B1W

My father's B1W is running into a weird issue. It is no longer recording. The camera powers on, and hear the lady's voice say "SD card detected"and that's it. The green light is solid. However, the camera is not showing on the wifi list (I've tried from multiple phones). The side button is not responsive at all. So holding it down to turn off/on wifi doesn't work.

Any ideas on what the issue is or how to resolve it? Is it possible to hard reset the camera?

We can reset the camera by loading firmware with a Windows laptop!

Also, please load this BIN file from this link (V1.06.20180528s standard firmware)

And then you can load it in this way: No need to insert a memory card into the camera unit, please note!
1) Keep pressing this button on the camera when plugging into the laptop USB socket.
2)Open this tool and select this "load bin file" section and load this bin file which lists in the second link.
3)Click this "start update"

Do you have a file that is compatible with MacOS?
 
Update:

So I was able to visit my father again today. I used his windows laptop and downloaded the tool and BIN file. However, when loading the bin file into the tool I got an error (I don't remember the exact message) but it seem like the BIN file still loaded, and I clicked 'Start Update'. Then the status bar goes to 5% and then I get 'UNSUPPORTED FAILED' in red. Then nothing happens the status bar stays at 5%.

If Windows 10 is installed on your laptop, you must disable digital driver signature verification https://ph.answers.acer.com/app/ans...windows-10:-disable-signed-driver-enforcement
 
Hi AJVB, did you ever get your cam working? I have the exact same problem.

No, it's currently sitting in a drawer until I can find access to a Windows computer.

Sorry, not available for Mac users! Anyway, you can send it back for the warranty!
 
How long is the warranty? Mine was purchased from Amazon 1.5 years ago.

Mine also will be useless as I have no access to a Windows computer.
 
1-year warranty; But 18 months warranty if you registered on the website before with your order number!

Anyway, you can try to reboot the dashcam with a memory card by loading the .bin firmware 20180528s
You can download the bin firmware on the website!

Yes, I previously tried the firmware on the website. Even the wifi reset firmware. No dice.
