Too bad we can't remove a feature when viewing video play back in real time to see the difference as needed. Of course, this wouldn't apply to the CPL filter lol

Every plate of these cars can be made out. Some better, a few worse.

And so far the most impressive one:

From my experience in the past many cameras were struggling in such lighting conditions.
The E1 Pro makes it look easy.
I am very impressed by its performance.

These are nice captures. I am unable to do the same as the state of Pennsylvania does not require a front license plate. The best I can do is capture cars as I approach to pass or at traffic lights.

The E1 Pro did a really good job.

For capturing plates this is of course unfortunate.
But for the design of the cars it's much better. I wish we didn't have to run front plates.

Does PlatePix do more than reduce exposure? Also, does it reduce exposure all the time even when no plates are present? If so, is it any different than just lowering the exposure value in the "Exposure" menu?

PP appears to increase contrast and the metering is weighted towards ensuring highlights are not blown out. The result is a darker video.

I also found that PP was using some kind of HDR or double exposure, even when HDR was turned off.

Check the last few pages to have an impression about the image quality and the ability to capture plates.

The remote from the E3 works flawless with the E1 Pro.
It immediately connected and worked. No pairing required.

As requested, I did turn off PlatePix for today and kept on HDR.
Here are the results:

First plate that can be identified. Also the drivers face actually.

Looks like PlatePix Off = make HDR not work,
PlatePix On = allow HDR to work normally.
Result is an essential new feature, which wouldn't be required if the dashcam used the PlatePix On settings at all times?

At the moment I don't see a reason to use the PlatePix timer.

My current preference is PP On (no timer) and HDR Auto from dusk til dawn.
