Vantrue E360

Looks interesting. Not the first 360 dashcam though, I used Waylens ones for years, with 4g connectivity. Was only 1080 and not the best quality though. This looks kinda bulky for sitting in the window. Be cool to test it out. Wonder if it will have an input for a rear camera, as 360 up front doesnt really capture true rear footage.

If it's anything like my Insta360 cams, then I'm definitely in.

I've been waiting for a dedicated 360 dash cam

Last one I remember was 70mai Omni, but that's a bit old now so will be interesting to see how this one holds up

I have an Omni and it's nothing like a real 360* cam.

Here's a comparison of my Insta360 and a B2W

Insta360 on a selfie stick

Insta360 (edited view)

Same video in 360* VR (use phone or tablet to pan/tilt)

A high quality 360* dash cam with the abilty reframe footage after the fact will be a game changer

The resolution is the big issue. Starvis 2 2k sensor with the E360 interpolated to 5.2K. Eeep

I saw a 5 channel system on kickstarter yesterday, also claiming 360 coverage with no side cameras, okay the front unit do have 2 interior cameras on it you can swivel to the side.
#5 channel a so called baby camera you can mount anywhere like on back of headrest.

Front sensor do appear to me the IMX 678

"5.2K (5184*1944P)

The E360 dash cam offers 5.2K high-definition recording, delivering superior picture quality that captures every detail on the road. Additionally, its High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology reduces noise and motion blur, ensuring clear footage in all lighting conditions, both day and night."

From Vantrue site.

It must be interpolated because it sums two lenses.

Does the E360 use the same type of Emergency filing system as other Vanture cameras?

Like will I be able to hit the event button and save a specific file point in a separate folder that won't get overwritten?

That's a real problem I have when using my Insta360 as a dash cam because it takes me forever to find a specific point on a timeline

Omni is a rotating camera

Just bought my first dashcam, the E360. A bit risky since I can't validate any real-life reviews, but hoping the pre-sale deal is worth it.

My biggest concern is powering it for parking monitoring in my Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. (I street park in NYC and would like the peace-of-mind.) I hear the Tucson may not have a very high capacity on the 12v battery. Anyone have experience in this area? Any suggestions for alternative power if necessary?

Responding to myself here since I don't think I can edit my original comment, I have found the section of the forum dedicated to the subject and I'm reviewing now. But I'm welcome to any direct replies as well. Thanks!

I also ordered one, until I receive it, please write what you experience, what you noticed, etc.

I have a PowerCore battery for a car camera, it's a LiFePo battery, I use it for my cameras, don't use the car battery. If I didn't use this, I would turn off the camera at 12.2V. (Viofo knows this, I hope Vantrue also comes with such a cable anyway.)

Vantrue E360 ACE has a rear camera.

Is the tripod so it can be used as a standalone camera, like out of the car?
