Here is my new Pittasoft BlackVue DR500GW-HD

It's very blurry and registration plates aren't even legible when behind a vehicle... I'll be sending this back and requesting a replacement, had the camera three and a bit days.

It is HD, the video is 1080P! Click the cog to adjust the resolution in YouTube! Here are my settings for the camera and why would I want to show night video when you cant even see the day video clearly!

Unfortunately with the mount you can't attach it any closer to the windscreen, plus my windshield is squeaky clean - I have even given it a thorough wipe this morning and there is no difference (see pics)

Hi Milamber,

The quality does look worse than the other DR500GW-HD. Since you have now owned 2 of the best dash cams available on the market, I wonder if it has to do with your vehicle. Angle of the windshield, positioning, etc. Have you tried it in another car?

Worst case, return it, it may be a defective unit.

Ya after watching youvideo on my laptop. Your DR500 definitely has problem. Maybe a lemon set. Please get it exchange ASAP.

My DR500 during day time.
Pls watch it 1080P setting.

I think the angle of the window is causing the issue with your video. You have had both the Finevu and Blackvue and both have had poor image quality. Try mounting the camera on the dash dead center. The reason I say this is, look at how much glare is coming from your window in this video? I can see all sorts of shadows coming from all different angles. All the reflections from the surrounding area are being reflected into your window.
I know that you said you cleaned the window, but did you clean the inside of your window??? Most windows develope a film of resudue from being heated and cooled by your fan. Everytime your window perspires, that condensate clings to your window and dries. After a few months or years of buildup, the window will not allow you to see through it. This dried on film will actually cause excessive glare both inside and out. I can even see the dried film in the corner of the picture you posted of your window mout and mirror. Look between your mount and the mirror. You will see a film of what looks like dirt. Try cleaning the inside of the window with cleaner, then wipe with a good soft leather cleaning cloth. Make sure you get the film residue off. Trust me on this.
