VG12 1080p ?

So my VG12 which seems faulty and maybe fake confuses me, preview quality on rear LCD looks excellent, whilst actual recording on SD is pants.

This is the one I bought........

The firmware version is DVR-b709.20120626-A

The menu appears to have blue upper and lower borders ?

Hi Marcus,

What you ended up getting is a fake GS1000 based on the Novatek processor. You can read about it on our main site. The quality on the screen looks good because the screen is so small. When viewing on a larger device you will see the problems. Unfortunately there isn't really much you can do to improve picture quality.

Substantially worse than my other cheapo which I think is rather decent for it's price...........wish I had found this site before buying anything else - period

Was not for the lack of googling and researching, just didn't use the right combination of keywords and luck
