Vico WF-1 Hardwire

Can the WF-1 be hardwired thru an accessory circuit, if I use a voltage reducer to 5v?
Don't want to use socket plug.

Would the cam start when engine is started? It should in my mind,but I'm kinda old

You shouldn't have any problems using the converter you linked to. You might want to hook it up using an add-a-fuse to piggy back off a circuit in your car that is powered on and off with ignition. You can read here for more details.
