Hi all,

I own a DR650s but the manual recording is deemed pointless because it only saves 5 second of video before you activate manual recording. It's rare you can react in 5 seconds when something happens on the road you'd like to record.

Is there a way to increase this? I really hope I'm missing something here.

Thank you in advance.

Rob

pre buffer is limited to how much it can cache, that's one of the downsides of the prebuffer function, good for an automatic save but not so great for manual saves

Better have two memory cards in car with you and in such case change card and deal with it later.
I also wait 15+ mins so that video file is naturally closed for sure, i had one case when last file (that important one) was destroyed at camera shutdown.

For DR650S the manual recording feature is more so to find the video easier. It's not like it partitions the folder and makes it so the manual file isn't overwritten.
If you are using it to locate your file (e.g., the one right before the manual file and the manual file itself) then it'll work reasonably well.
