Viofo A119M Pro: New features & sample footage

That’s a multichannel dashcam that’s more of a competitor to something like the A229 Ultra or T800, no?
I know its a multichannel cam but you can just get the main camera by itself. At the price point just for the cam is the same price as the a119m. That and the e1 pro I have read has heating issues which causes some performance issues or freezing.

Ah gotcha. That's a good point.

It does get hot, yes, but to the best of my knowledge, I've never seen anyone report overheating issues. Do you happen to have links to what you've read?

Thanks, I found a few on Amazon. Lots of complaints about the heat of course, and many people said it still kept working, but there are a few reports of it locking up or buttons no longer being operational. Some are reporting it would stop working while others saying they actually got notifications on screen about the video not working due to overheating. Good to know!

Also it turns out I got way more hits when searching for "hot" instead of "heat" lol.

Definitely a knock in terms of reliability then. Also functionality concerns aside, even if it works it can get hot enough to start to burn your finger when you touch it which is an issue too.

Would be interested to know if it's gotten better since the last (or second last if memory serves me correct), where they said in the update log that they decreased the temperature cutoff for the screen. And if that's improved it's reliability. I've never had any real issues with the E1 Pro in the summer heat, but that could be because I'm running it in the back of my car under tinted windscreen 🤣

LOl yeah. Why I think people would pass on the e1 and maybe think about the s1 pro max vs the a119m. My experience viofo is usually has clearer videos but the vantrue more accurate color.

Has anyone had issues viewing footage from the memory card on a Mac? I've tried on two and both are unable to read the memory card and instead ask me to initialize/format it to make it usable.

When I pop it into a Windows machine, it loads right up.

This is with a Viofo memory card that was formatted in the A119M Pro which is running the latest fw, V1.0_20251031.

I just tried mounting the memory card formatted by the A119M Pro on my Mac Mini and it failed to mount. It mounted on my Windows 11 computer just fine. I have the same firmware version installed in my A119M Pro as well.

Looks like the trick is to format the card to FAT32 (not EXFAT) in your computer (not the dashcam) and then you can switch it back and forth between devices.

How's the clarity of HDR recordings during the day?
i have the Viofo A119mini 2 and V3, and other versions, and these cameras should have option to automatically turn HDR on and off algorithm depending on the detected light intensity in combination with the hour of the day and the month. The problem is you can always turn HDR on, which is stupid because it blurs the recordings during the day and makes them difficult to read. Or you can set the night time, but you have to constantly change it throughout the year, which is tedious.
There should be an additional option for automatic HDR option that would automatically decide whether to turn it on or off.

Regarding the formatting issue, Viofo sent me a test firmware and that looks to have resolved reading files on a Mac so it works as expected again.

Debating about picking this dash cam up.

Is it still a pretty good deal?

I only need the front and it’s honestly between this a119m pro and the garmin x310 Garmin only because of their mount and their app.
