Today I noticed that the new Viofo app has IR as a new featureView attachment 47474

And also the additional parking mode options. Altho it says firmware v1.9 required.

I guess v1.9 is getting ready to be official release?

I think so... It would be logical that in the upcoming days we should have v1.9 released. One week gap between the mobile app and the dashcam FW will be reasonable and logical.
We will have to wait and see
