Bought this dashcam but having issues with front camera.
The issue would be that "Rear" camera module @ 16mbps has WAY much better clarity and detail than "Front" camera module @ 28mbps .
Is that just for me, or is it the general quality for this Dashcam ?

P.S.
Tried BCHobbyist firmwares, same outcome ... "Rear" module has better quality, clarity, sharpness

I haven't proved this suggestion myself but others suggest turning off the wifi.
It was to do with poor quality but it might be the lower mbs

forgot to mention WiFi is off, WDR is OFF, 0EV exposure, 30FPS, 60HZ, no Polirizer Filter, Hardwired

Can you share the original file of the front camera to me, you can PM the link after you upload it to google driver or dropbox.

Going to post this here for everyone else to see and compare both videos

Make sure Wifi is disabled....Your video quality seems to be good?

Do you have tinted windows by chance? That can affect exposure since tint filters light. Causing more noise and less clarity.

WiFi is disabled

Rear window is lightly tinted @ 16mbps has much better quality than Front (no tint) @ 28mbps

P.S.
If my Front camera quality would be the same as Rear camera I would not bring this up

Upload a sample video. Is the image blurry (lens not properly focused / aligned) or just not as sharp as you'd like? Could be defective camera if you have blurry image.

Sample Videos and frame shots on Google Drive

Stock Firmware 30 seconds cut, looks just awful
Viewing the original video file on native resolution I'd say the front camera lens is out of focus because license plates are not readable. Like on most of the dashcams focus is fixed on this model and cannot be adjusted by the user, so all out-of-focus issues should be covered by warranty. Also, the image looks a bit noisy to me. Just like the exposure compensation was turned up due to lack of light even it's bright partially cloudy day at somewhere nice and warm place (palm trees).

Your rear camera is skipping frames, exactly the same problem like mine. The front one seems out of focus..
