Got my A229 Plus today, it came with V1.0_231009.
 
Here are the latest firmwares for the front and rear cameras of the A229 Plus.
FWA229S_V1.0_231117
EthсamTxFW_V1.0_?
 
I think the version of the rear cam (EthcamTxFW.bin) firmware is V1.0_231116
 
So is the A229 Plus with this current firmware good enough to purchase?

I just bought my wife an A229 Plus, and I'm shocked!
It has no power input!
How can I turn it ON at home if the GPS module is attached to the windshield??
Am I missing something? may be it hidden somewhere?

its also mentioned in the manual: rear camera/power in/card reader mode on the PC

Yep, somehow I missed it...:(
It would really help if the printed label next to the USB-C port on the device itself also included this information, currently it only says "Rear".
I would never have thought to connect a power cable to the video input port. :eek:

There is not only a video input, but also a power output for the rear camera.

Only power comes into the GPS input, and a video signal also comes into the rear camera input. So your combination won't work.

LOL what? I just updated my new A228 Plus yesterday and now a newer firmware is out? Where can I see the changelog in this newer firmware?

1. Optimized: GPS speed changed to 0 suddenly while driving.
2. Added: Support exFAT file format.
3. Fixed: Mosaic image shown on the rear camera.

Version: V1.0_231207

1. Fixed: Rotate and exposure settings cannot be kept after powering off.
2. IQ updated.
3. Other bugs fixed.


Neither the manufacturer nor the speed of the card affects the firmware process.
Any memory card formatted in FAT32 is suitable for flashing the firmware.

A229Pro/Plus: To update our newest firmware, you need to format your card to FAT32 first.
With the newest firmware, you need not to format it to FAT32 when you update the next firmware.
Because the exFAT file format has been added to this new firmware.
