My new Viofo A329T has arrived today - shipping from China to UK is very fast at the moment.

As this now seems to be the first one in the 'wild', here are some photos of it all - retail box, what's included and each specific camera etc.

*Thank you very much to @viofo
This will be a nice shift from the BlackVue DR970X Plus

Coming from a mainly BlackVue background and unfortunately feeling underwhelmed by the last couple of iterations of BlackVue, who seem to be moving towards a more fleet business model rather than individual user - I've wanted to try and compare to Viofo for some time, seeing other reviews and recommendations of it rumoured to have the best image quality overall.

With the A329T I definitely wasn't disappointed.
The image quality comparison between just the standard 4K front camera on Blackvue's DR970X Plus and the Viofo A329T, the image is better on the Viofo.
Then you move into the range of the telephoto camera which blows the BlackVue of the water.
Because of it's 4X Zoom, you get clear footage of objects further away, critical for those registration plates/license plates, and people recognition etc.

The image quality speaks for itself - as pictures paint a 1000 words.

I highly recommend this as a current go to camera, and I have now switched full time to Viofo as my main camera - but I'm keeping an eye on all the competition.

Image quality is key over all other features.

Thanks for sharing the photos! Could you share a link to the seller in China?
Did you have to pay any customs duties?
I'm planning to buy this camera myself.

Viofo kindly sent it to me for review - so no customs charges, so I'd be unable to confirm whether any charges would apply in other instances. They did when I purchased other dashcams from China & South Korea direct from manufacturers.

Viofo sell direct and ship worldwide, so no need for third party website/reseller - unless it's easier if any local to you to avoid import charges etc.

I also wanted to buy it in the pre-sale, but then I read on the site that customs costs could be applied and you would lose the advantage. Maybe it's a matter of luck

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see the RC420 and RTC420 labels on the cameras.

I've not had chance to set it up full and run any test yet - I've got a lot on over the next few days.

I've had a quick plug in to check the firmware version that is shipped on the retail version.

It's - VIOFO_A329T_V1.0_250510

@SafeDriveSolutions I don't know if this is different to the pre-release on your A329S unit.

My preorder shipped late yesterday. At least that’s when I got the email. Shipped from China so it’ll be a bit.

They told me it would be up to 14 days, but it only took 3 days.

Thanks for the photos! I've got an A329 rear cam sitting here and there's no model number on the side. The previous telephoto has one, but on a different part of the body. I like the added cooling vents (?) on the new cams.
it is not cooling vents. All it is was a casing change so it is same size as casing on telephoto.

I'm still in the process of getting this set up for some sample footage.

One point of feedback so far is that the telephoto camera now uses coax cable instead of USB-C which is a good change, but now means the the choice of cable sizes are now seriously limited.

I want to position the telephoto camera within 5-10cm of the main unit in the middle of the dash, but the smallest coax cable available separately currently is 1m.
You have the option for 0.15, 0.30 and 1.0m when ordering - so order wisely.
It's hard to find shorter dashcam coax, unlike the previous USB-C that was available in any lengths by third parties.

Hopefully Viofo will update their available cable lengths as separate purchases (not available on their website, only available when ordering the camera unit).

Whereas USB-C cables come in pretty much any size choices.
There are many USB-C cables, but they do not work with the RTC300, and the shortest one on sale on the Viofo website is also 1m.
It is much easier to lay a 1m long coaxial cable than a USB-C cable of the same length.

Yes I appreciate that.
The coax is definitely an upgrade for versatility and routing.

It's merely a suggestion for shorter cables to be available when a camera is designed to accompany a front camera and you'd assume a lot of people position them close together/next to each other, but for the shortest available cable to be 1m - which just causes an inconvenience and unnecessary routing.

It would be good if a shorter cables was available.

It wasn't too much of an inconvenience when using USB-C because third party cables are available in any size (although compatibility may be an issue).
But I can't find any coax cable with small BCA connectors (used by dashcams) available less than 1m.

*Edited after other user feedback on next few posts*

Looking at the A329T 3CH, I can see telephoto cable options at 1.0m, 0.3m and 0.15m.
