IF ! Viofo have gone remote main box, i just hope they did not make it a silly little one when really then it could be almost any size.
And as i have said umpteen times, then be able to host a proper cooling solution, which would be very good in hot places for parking. even if these days systems can also just go pretty much OFF and then boot lightning fast which sort of make that point mute.
But then it could also house a proper memory solution, which would be nice even if i just saw the price of the 2Tb Nvme drive i got for my PC upgrade, and it have gone up in price like ( /me think why dident you get 10 of them )

I am getting used to cloud, but it is still not what i would call a absolute must have feature for me personally, but i am retaining my#2 SIM card to be able to test such things even if it is a extra expense for my pension to pay.

But then it could also house a proper memory solution
My idea for memory solution for a BOX UNIT would be separate SD Cards for each camera.
MAX 512GB SD Card = Front
MAX 512GB SD Card = Rear
MAX 512GB SD Card = Left
MAX 512GB SD Card = Right
MAX 512GB SD Card = Interior
MAX 512GB SD Card = Telephoto

Cost: $229.99 x 6 = $1379.94 plus tax and shipping

Not an issue if you get them free for testing but more than a bit of a problem for those paying with their own money.

I would for sure prefer a pluggable / tray Nvme and just drop everything on there CUZ it will handle that.
Then i also have a excuse to buy a desktop Nvme dock i can plop one or more of those into, USB 4 so i can max my Two ports on the back out.

Yikes, I see your point.
I came up with that idea when VIOFO 512GB Cards were $70 each.
It would be cheaper to get VIOFO Recommended SSD’s;
$1,000 Samsung T9 4TB
$800 SanDisk Extreme 4TB

...It would be cheaper to get VIOFO Recommended SSD’s;...
Hard pass on that until they become a lot more reliable. Too many reports of problems using SSDs and for a device that the primary use of which is capturing evidence reliability is the number 1 priority.

If not VIOFO Recommended SD Cards, or SSD’s what else is there?

Blackview, Garmin, Nextbase, Redtiger, Thinkware, Vantrue, etc......

I use the A329S GIGASTONE, Samsung, without any issues, especially after formatting it to FAT32 Slow using AOMEI Partition Assistant. However, when I use the SD card formatting tool, I often encounter "slow card" warnings and beeping problems. I plan to order the camera as soon as it is available, and I hope it will work well with this setup.
I also use the Sandisk 1 TB on my car's embedded dashcam and plan to test the Samsung directly on the car dashcam and Viofo to see how it will perform.

Exactly this. Not sure why SanDisk extreme SSDs are still being recommended when they had issues publicly documented.

And it's also damning when no other manufacturer has implemented SSD support either when it was a feature of that particular Novatek chipset when it was launched.

Hope it has background sync of video clips. I don't want to spend 10 mins downloading video clips, I want my phone to have the clips ready for me tyvm.

Viofo should focus on Cloud Connectivity / LTE. Every other brand has moved towards remote access of their cameras. It's quite useful feature, too. Hoping the 15 September Announcement is a cloud one.

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant was;
If you can’t use VIOFO Recommended SD Cards, or SSD’s in a VIOFO Dash Cam, what else is there?

Viofo can be quite stubborn, but at least they finally got OTA updates working with a much better app this year

Here's hoping they get cloud, because everyone else has it now and they risk falling behind.

If it's a heat concern, many brands have an external LTE module with no need to make the function reliant upon internal components. Short of heat, I'm not really sure what's holding Viofo back, and hope 15 September changes everything.

I don't think it was ever a heat concern, just they never wanted to do it and thought they could coast along. Just like they never wanted to improve their app etc.

I honestly think that with the September event it's just the rumoured four channel T series camera and noting more. If they're saying four reasons that's about it. No cloud or anything.
