VIOFO Launch Event

I had a workshop rip out cables from my old A229 Duo. They also stole the SD card...
Something like the anti-tamper cover would have been nice in this situation.
Of course, that is the problem with using Microsd, your camera can be stolen and there is no proof of who it was.

I think that eliminating the option to use SSD has been a notorious mistake.
In my A329 I have the SSD hidden in a remote area of the vehicle, the camera could be stolen, broken, etc... but the criminal's face will be registered on the SSD if it is not covered.

I like the minimalist design of the main camera, but I won't have to think much about buying it, and I will probably opt for the A329S model.

a 4-channel camera with resolutions of 4k+2+2+2...even using the 512gb card I don't know what Autonomia it will have and it's €230 extra...which adds up to the fact that I don't have it and would have to buy it and leave the T7 SHIELD SSDs collecting dust and that idea doesn't appeal to him.

So what was the whole different way of storage? I guess no cloud.... One drawback to not having cloud if someone breaks into your car, the image / video isn't uploaded to a remote location. If the criminal is smart enough to damage or steal camera, you have no proof.

I don’t want to go off-topic, but I feel compelled to say this.
What is wrong with the question I asked in a thread created in English, where users from various countries are writing in English?
For some, it is their native language. But many others, like myself, use a translator.
Since when has Spanish become the official language of dashcamtalk.com???

If I had seen Chuck's thread earlier—where he asked the same question and DashCamMan
had already provided an answer—I wouldn't have asked this question here.

I’ve asked the same question before when a user wrote in a different language, but it never caused a stir.
The trolls must have been on vacation. 😉
The user simply started writing in English.

As DashCamMan wrote, everyone is free to write in whatever language they wish.
An official response has been received.
So, there is no need to revisit this matter.

Anyone spot any AI features? I couldn't find any yet.

Not sure SSD option has been eliminated. This is not a flagship series and only the A329/A329x had SSD support. Which was very hit and miss even with firmware updates. Plus no other brand implemented SSD support even though they were using the same Novatek chipset where it was supported natively

The rear camera is a brand new RE100 with the IMX662 image sensor
Will be interesting to see what Viofo does with the IMX662, I haven't been that impressed with it in other brand's implementations.

Since I'm not in a hurry to buy a new camera, I'm discarding these new cameras. Honestly, one of my priorities was for them to have 4 channels. I also like the minimalist mode.
But the removal of SSD support is too important to overlook.

I'll wait to see if Viofo plans to release new evolutions of these new 4-channel cameras with SSD support and if I see that in about 1 year it doesn't, I'll buy the A329S model or I'll continue with my A329, I'll see what I decide.

But there are too many cons, according to my assessment, purchasing a microSD valued at €230, and the vulnerability that in the event of a theft inside the vehicle, they can easily access the MicroSD and could steal or destroy it and leave no evidence of the crime and possible identification of the criminal.

I had interior and front facing camera in my car when it was stolen in 2022, trust me they don't care about the dashcams if they are just there to steal it for a joyride. Most criminals don't care one bit if they are captured on camera.

Would be different if you left it for servicing, and one of them stole the dashcam.

I'm pretty excited about the T340 in particular. It's mostly a blend of the A329S and A329T, and I plan on replacing my A329T with it to get the extra interior recording. Just gotta figure out how to shuffle stuff around on my windshield. Here's a video of my thoughts and impressions about all the new models:

In my opinion the remote recording media (SSD or Card Reader+micro SD, as in my case) is the best feature of the A329S.
I completely agree, that it is too important to overlook.
Beyond the stealthy installation, this setup offers some other benefits as well - most importantly it re-distributes the heat generation.
In my view, judging by what I’ve seen so far, the A329S remains the best model-the flagship of the Viofo lineup.
Essentially, the A329S (3ch) works like a (4ch) system, thanks to the interior camera’s fish-eye lens, which provides a clear view through all four side windows.
If more viewing angles are needed, you can always add an extra camera.

Also, I’m not a fan of screen-less dash cams - I prefer not having to rely on a smartphone.

I really like the design of the car's small windshield, but I'm not sure whether the main camera quality is compatible with the A329 body. I'm also concerned about how it might affect battery life. I currently have the BP1000 and the PowerCell 8, as well as the EcoFlow RiverFlow 3 and the Anker Solix C300. I'm not certain which combination would be best for long-term parking mode. I would appreciate your opinion or recommendations before I buy one or consider a different model.

Just saw the interior camera, it's that same Omnivision that Wolfbox had. Was supposed to be competitior to the IMX675. I'm not as keen now 🤣

Pricing seems rather high, seems like Viofo is adding the Viofo tax lately.

To build on this, back in 2020 a family member had their car broken into at night while the A129 Duo (Front + Rear) recorded in parking mode. As it was 1080p, and night time, the video captured could see the people (likely 17 or 18 year olds) walk up to car, with the audio capturing the vehicle being broken into, and rifled around. You could then two individual then walk away on the rear camera. Of course, it wasn't clear enough to see their faces for perfect identification but the video was given police.

Had these people been smarter, and not young, I wouldn't have put it past them to snatch the camera or break it to destroy the video. This is why I have the N5S with LTE Module (cloud) capabilities. I want remote capabilities and any incidents to be uploaded to the cloud.

That said, someone on here created a Program called Dashkeep that purports to add the cloud to Viofo Cameras and permit connecting to Wifi Hotspots. Never tested this app but assuming that's true, why doesn't Viofo Implement this themselves? https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threa...to-almost-any-wifi-dashcam.61484/#post-671932

I was surprised about that too. When I asked, Viofo told me it performs better than the IMX675 thanks to its larger sensor and pixel size. Additionally the lens aperture gets larger, from f/2.2 to f/1.6, so that will help in low light too.

We will have to see I guess. To be fair Viofo are pretty good with their image quality compared to other brands.

I also not sure what Viofo are aiming for with the prices of the T340 etc, are they trying to get into Blackvue Thinkware pricing territory etc. they risk more people going towards 70mai Vantrue etc.
