VIOFO VS1 FIRMWARE / Update (2025-01-15)

Actually I checked the user manual but must have missed that part.

But speaking about religion: does yours forbid to let your neighbor live in peace?

does yours forbid to let your neighbor live in peace?
What are you saying, absolutely not. Until the neighbor starts yelling threats out the window 24 hours a day. And then the neighbor is surprised - FOR WHAT????

The saddest thing about this situation is that some people were screaming and jumping, and now others are suffering.

I was testing the previous VS1 firmware [v1.1_241216] with the BTR200 remote. I found the button assigned to Parking Mode would not actually enable/disable parking mode. The VS1 would only produce a single beep instead of announcing that it had successfully enabled or disable parking mode. I tested a newer firmware and it resolved the problem. Just a few days ago, VIOFO updated their site with VS1 firmware v1.1_250115 that fixes this issue.

VS1 v1.1_250115 Update

1. Added: Turn on/ off the parking mode by BTR200 remote
2. Fixed: Other bugs

Ugh. Just replaced my WM1 with one of these. No voice notification volume control. What a glaring omission.

Oddly enough, the camera doesn't seem to like ExFAT formatted cards either. It formats the card VFAT. The WM1 was the opposite and is quite flexible about the ExFAT format it accepts.

@VIOFO-Support @viofo Please change the firmware so that the files in the Photo folder are excluded from the loop overwrite. It does not make sense that the photos (at least in my case always taken with the Video Protect button) are constantly deleted when they demand very little space on the SD card. They should be preserved together with their protected movie clips.

Are you saying that only protected photos should be kept? It is OK to overwrite unprotected?

Good question. I would prefer both and maybe the unprotected ones are even more important to keep since they have no corresponding movie files that are already protected from deletion.

If the photos cannot be overwritten automatically, the card will be full of photos in the end and the camera will stop to record unless you remember to format it regularly. Compared with such kind of "risk", the better solution is to backup the important photos you think timely. Anyway, if you still want a special firmware to keep the photos without overwriting, I will forward your desire to the related department.

Thanks! Maybe it is the fact that the photos are removed even before any of the movie files are removed that was a real surprise to me. I mean, the loop procedure has to remove movie files anyway since the photos do not take up much space. Like it is now, I would have to download photos after each trip since at the next trip all photos will be gone.

By any chance are you using the included 32GB Sd Card that came with the camera?
Can you try a larger capacity SD Card?

No, I bought a 256 GB card when I bought the camera, so plenty of room on the card. But eventually the movie files will loop and then ALL the photos are wiped clean.
