After just one day of using WR 1 in the car I drive on my job, have to say I am impressed and satisfied with the shape of it and how it fits in the car. Video quality is great, like you can change exposure in settings and improve quality of videos even more. Didnt try the motion detection feature yet.
Two things I dont like about WR 1 is a lack of some sort of emergency record button ( didnt try the G-sensor,didnt notice any any videos marked as emergency ones ). Also i have a problem with both apps for Android ( Viofo and FN Cam ), they keep crashing all the time and you have to stop record to enter settings and when you enter settings you better start recording or cant exit the app properly, but I look forward to people from Viofo handle this recently.

You can press the button to lock the file while recording, and it will have beeps.

This cam has just been released for marketing so very few people have one to review ATM  You'll likely find more info about it here on DCT than anywhere else right now. It does seem to be a good cam so far :D

Another app you can use with WR 1 is FN Cam,here's some pics of app...

In this video you can see reaction of Sony IMX 323 sensor in sudden change of light condition during entering, driving through and exiting tunnel and in the end of video you can see one jackass can pick a lane after ovetaking a car....

WR 1 vs Yi dashcam comparison video night time, low light conditions
Upper one is Yi and lower one is WR 1
WR 1 vs Yi dashcam comparison video day time twilight/dusk rain conditions
Upper one is WR 1 and lower one is Yi

The WR1 definitely seems superior in low light and the narrower focal length lens on the WR1 seems more better than the Y1.

I am in proces making another comparison video in a twilight/sunset rain condition and then WR 1 also looks better than Yi.

So far, the WR1 seems to perform very well in many conditions. That's not always the case when a new dash cam is released with its first firmware version. It should only get better! Viofo seems to have done a nice job with the camera so far.

I agree with you, except in the part regarding first firmware version. I changed my firmware version from fabric V1.0.0 to V1.0.1 , so its not a fabric-first firmware anymore but I understand its realted to improve and decrease a number of hot pixels.

I would actually disagree with that. The Yi is more accurate for tone / brightness in my opinion - look at the back of the car in front - it's blown out on the WR1 and clearly over exposed, whilst nicely balanced on the Yi. That said it depends on what you're looking for, maximum view to the side of the road / into the shadows or accurate tonality. It does also show one thing though, you can use Action Cams as dashcam if you don't have an issue with the feature set.

I must admit do love my WR1 and especially at night, though, I have to say, technically blown out or not, it really sees well.

As for the daylight video Sone, I think it shows how the WR1 performs best at night. It's by no means bad in the day, but it is a bit blurry compared to the best and when the BMW comes past, even pausing it with the BM just off the bumper, leaves the number plate all but unreadable. I think the WR1 is a great cam, and I got better results than that in daytime (maybe I had better lighting). However, it definitely excels at night whilst its good but not exceptional in the day.
