Hi,

I recently installed a Blackvue dash cam with a power magic pro and wired it back to the fuse box in the boot. It worked for a day. After leaving it on the 12 hr timer overnight I returned to the car in the morning and received the battery discharge warning (expected).

However, the camera no longer powered on with the car.

So I got the multi-meter out and did a little prodding around. It seems that before the dash-cam is connected to the power magic device, it is putting out 12-12.5 v as expected.

However, when I plug the dash cam into the socket voltage across the entire fuse box falls to around 4.5v. This in turn spawns a whole heap of under-voltage errors that I was able to read out of the ECU.

To try and narrow it down I've connected the dash cam directly to the cigarette lighter in adapter in the centre console & it works fine.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what could cause such an issue?

Fuse box pic attached.

Thanks
Ben.
