Dash Cam
Mini 0801 DashCam and Blackvue DR550GW, iPhone 4S.
I am wondering after the fiasco of dash cams I have spent over £450 in total and have one good camera. I want MORE...

LOL right this is my request.
Can anyone out there in general dash cam talk forum Please tell me what your favorite camera is... I will look at reviews and see if I think its worth buying one. If it is then I will get it and test it.

I only have a small window of cash rich time to buy so reports need to come in soon, I will be skint by March then I may get more after April. (Self employment is pants).

This is my requirement list.
Price,
Single Camera I would prefer £100 or less but around that does not worry me.
Dual Camera I would be willing to pay around £200, but prefer not to go too high.
Must have Clear 1080p 110 degree or wider footage.
Must have a good FPS or ips and bitrate that does not cause bad pixelization issues, (i understand there's always some).
A power lead able to be fitted to a car hard wired or accessory port wired.
Last but by no means least would like to have GPS however after looking at the C1 and C2 reviews not as important. Would like MPH if possible.

I am planning on having the cameras fitted in the 4x4. I drive for work and pleasure as a mechanic I do random rescues of stranded motorists.
I have the DR550GW Blackvue camera, at £300 its not cheap, but the video quality is pants.
I also now have a fully updated Mini0801 Dashcam with GPS and no Internal Memory set to MPH.
I also have two Cheap dashcams both are dead and the one I made out of the two has a fault it says the date is 1st June 2014 ever since the 1st of Jan 2014, this is not good.

Post away... Oh and Thanks I will keep this updated...

As I mentioned earlier, I have the Mobius A lens and am more than happy with it. It will fit your needs and for a camera the size of a box of Tic Tacs, will impress you. Add in the huge support group here and on the RC Forums and the developers continued firmware upgrades.

Continuing our previous conversation, I would say @Jim is your man for questions regarding the extension lens option.

Here is the link to the extension

Hope this helps

Within your budget 200£ ( 330 usd ) there are no very good 2ch systems out there in Europe market.
If you add a little bit more ( total around 400 usd ) and willing to buy from Korea, then I am "itching" towards FineVu CR-2000S WDR 2Ch FullHD + FullHD / 30Fps

Yes I looked at the camera a week or so ago when the post was created its just a pity the front camera is White, it will stand out like a beacon, and I leave the cameras running day and night. on an Aux Battery.

Addition...
I have considered it however I have not yet seen any "real" road test footage in the UK, I have not looked since looking at the post. This is why i have created this listing, I can look in one place and see all the cameras in a list rather then searching through all the different sections.

Sorry on top of that I cant order it as I don't know where to click on the Chinese and Korean websites as I cant read the buttons, Google have not managed to translate them yet. LOL pesky gifs.

however it equates to £223 plus postage. not bad close...

I just stumbled on these http://www.finedashcam.com/collections/lukas-lk-7900-ace-8gb-gps-full-hd-1080p-30fps-dash-cam
Doesn't seem like Lukas is on the right track to success

Ya I was surprised to read how the quality has gotten so bad at Lukas

PS Like the
One of these days I’ll realize that leaning forward in my car while accelerating does not make it go any faster.
I used to do that on the racer, push bike, for you people who dont know...

However have you ever pushed your arms straight and pushed yourself into the back of the seat both hands at 3:45 on the steering wheel. at speed its an amazing feeling of control and speed. You have to hold your head still as well its a strange feeling.

Where's my keys?

Spend $20 more (not including postage and stuff) and you can get the VicoVation TF2

I don't want to presume to tell you how to order your finances, but are you sure a dash cam is a priority?

I have just had a look, at the vicoVation TF2 the mount does not look too grand, however the video looks good, I note there seems to be no GPS. for that price I would expect at least a MPH reading.

Reply 2
I am self employed, so cash is sometimes plentiful and then I get a close to nothing month. After the dead month it will be rich time again. so when i have the cash i buy the gadgets i want.

I like to review, but as of yet have failed to make a half decent video that I am happy with.

as for do I need a Dash cam, I already have one but its not very good, its the DR550GW, not as it is described on the website. so I need to try and replace it, I have a Mini0801 for the front, this will go into my wife's car when i find a better camera. she does need it to prove to me that the new dent in the car was not down to her reversing into another fence post.

If the Vico TF2 appeals to you, have a look at the new Vico Marcus 1 coming in March.

Lukas 7700 would fit the spec you want for around £100 (£85 atm, introductory price). If I can sell a few bits on eBay I'll be ordering one myself :)

£100 generally won't get you very much.

Maybe the GT300W, I think there is a GPS option on this. Actually.. don't think there is.

Panorama 2 also fits the bill but is a little over at about £120 I think, not sure if it has a proper parking mode in the same way as the Lukas, I need to read the mega thread a little closer.

Sounds good, BTW you have listed two Panorama 2 listings.

Nice I looked at the old Lucas but you could not turn off the LED speed display. The video on the older one was also 720 on YouTube so I ignored it. the two I found are

Hi Peter,
It's not entirely true that you can't turn off the speed display. Just opened the viewer for my LK7900 and the options for the display under heading Display Screen Setting are Speed-Time-Date, Speed-Time, Speed-Date or Time only. So if you don't want the speed display simply select Time only. These are the two cheapest links for the 7700:

If you really want nothing at all on the display then I think you have to put black tape over it :)

Not sure I'd bother with the CPL as my understanding is it makes things too dark at night so you'd be forever screwing filters on and off.

Also, I wouldn't bother buying the 128 GB version I guess you can get an SD card much cheaper elsewhere. I use a 7dayshop 32 GB class 10 in my 7900 which are currently £12.99, no hitches with it after extensive use in a micro 4/3rds camera for a year or more and more recently nearly a year of getting quite hot in the 7900! 64 GB are £20... tempting...

Cheers.
