What is the purpose of parking mode reduced to 15fps? File size same

What is the purpose for DR650 parking mode reduced to 15fps? File size is the same. Video is choppy not smooth.
 
I'm only guessing here, but I think lowering framerate puts less processing stress on the CPU, so there's less heat and greater chance of keeping the system operational during the summer heat in a parked and closed car.
