hi,

Do you use the highest res 1296/30 ?
Or 1080/60 or 1080/30?
And why one over another?

Somehow I don't see any extra details when in 1296/30, do you?

Is there English firmware for original YI car dvr?

tnx

Mike

yes 1296 is interpolated. waste of space on the card.

1080p it is.

then for FPS, in theory, 30 should have given better image as it should have more bandwith for each frame and more exposition time for dark scenes, but it is not the case with this camera and i really hope they improve later on. both 30 and 60 fps are the same garbage, so i left at 60 so at least i get more garbage :)

Hello I see 1296p as interpolated but is that actually worse than 1080p if my goal is don't care about actual image quality just the license plate in focus?

think of interpolated as: it is the exact same image as 1080p, but then you open it up in GIMP or PhotoShop, scale it to 1296 and save it.

Will you see the image better? no. you will just waste more disk space. (well, you can see better if you use some scaling algorithm that can discern edges better than you eye, but they do not exist)

yes, the result is: 1080p 60 fps is the best result for light dynamic range.
1080p 30fps is the same as 1296p and better than 1080p 60 fps for detail.
