Whats the use of the parking mode?

Unfortunately that’s the conclusion I have come to having read the last couple of posts from Tiffany. :(

If they pull away immediately you'll not have solid evidence in the video, but damage to their car might provide that. Sometimes a person will stop momentarily when they hit a parked car, then you will have footage of them in contact and your car moving when they pull away, and that kind of footage is adequate proof. With 'g-sensor' type activation there is a delay, and how long it takes before recording starts is critical. I don't know this cam but with most others that's 2 to 3+ seconds- not good enough.

It will always be after the bump/jolt/impact as of course, G-Sensor has no way of knowing a bump is imminent. The footage still catches the moving car/damage/aftermath.

Another option is timelapse mode on permanently live, that will record 5 frames per second whilst you're parked, catching before during and after.

Or radar which should be ready next year?

chose a dual cam dashcam with timelapse parking mode 1fps, it wouldnt miss the bump front and back.
