I'm thinking through the process of hardwiring my new dash cam, and I printed out the layout of my car's fuse box. (I plan on using a fuse tap.) There are a number of unused positions, with various amperage ratings from 5A to 20A. I can't imagine a dash cam would use a lot of amps. Is a 5A fuse sufficient? Or should I use a higher amperage fuse?

5A is ideal

On the same topic: When you tap the 5A fuse, what size fuse should you use when you piggy back? By that I mean what size fuse should be actually protecting the dash cam itself?
